Switched at Birth, a new drama airing on ABC Family,
is about two teenage girls who discover that they were accidentally
switched as newborns in the hospital. Bay Kennish grew up in a wealthy
family with two parents and a brother, while Daphne Vasquez, who
lost her hearing at an early age due to a case of meningitis, grew up
with a single mother and grandmother in a working-class neighborhood.
Things come to a dramatic head when both families meet and struggle
to learn how to live together for the sake of the girls.

Switched At Birth was renewed for a 20 episode second season, beginning to air in January

Bay is upset that Toby is giving up music and gets him a gig to reignite his love for music, and Bay and Daphne finally begin to make up.

2x14 "He did What He Wanted" 7/1/13

The politics of being a senator's wife are put to the test when Kathryn has an uncomfortable encounter. Daphne is getting mixed signals from Jace and Bay learns more about Mary Beth and Ty.

Meanwhile, Angelo joins the country club and Regina starts a new job.

2x15 "Ecce Mono" 7/8/13

What if Regina had told the hospital about the switch when she discovered it years ago? And what if both girls had been raised in the privileged Kennish household from age three? In "Ecce Mono," this alternate reality is revealed: Daphne has a cochlear implant, and doesn't know American Sign Language. Having been spoiled by her parents to make up for the switch, she's manipulative and not the best student. Bay, on the other hand, is a straight-A student, often trying to compensate for being the Kennishes' non-biological daughter. In addition, Kathryn is a successful author of bodice-ripping novels and, while still married to State Senator John Kennish, their marriage is far from perfect.

2x16 "The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living" 7/15/13

Daphne is torn between her obligation to her family and her desire to spend time with Jace. John must face the reality of his situation. Angelo offers to help Regina bring in business.

Meanwhile, Bay is intimidated when she meets a cool, confident Army medic (guest star Allison Scagliotti, “Warehouse 13”) who served with Ty in Afghanistan.

I'm guessing it could be Angelo. Can't really think of who else it could be that would have enough of an impact without being overly random (i.e. Toby dying because of his risky behaviour due to having less attention paid to him as a result of growing up in a 3 child family.). Interesting to think about...
I was looking at the picture of a cheating Kathryn (the one with her in bed with another man behind her), and the man almost looks like Chip Cato. Maybe John is still a senator. I might be imagining that just because I think the actor that plays him is really attractive. :lol:

I'm hoping Bay and Emmett are an established couple in the What If episode and are secretly seeing each other and it's not that they first meet and hang out a little bit only. I think it would be awesome if they are a full on couple. Katie mentioned how awful Daphne is in this episode. I could see Daphne picking on Bay for being studious and making remarks about Bay being single. Maybe Bay goes to that fraternity party as a cover and then sneaks off to meet Emmett.

If this is the extent of what we're getting then milk it for all it's worth.

Oh god. You know it's going to be awful going from that episode where we get them as a couple back to reality when they aren't. But I am hoping they are a couple already in there.

I am so there! Trent Cruz and Michael Ross keep tweeting about this pitch they are putting together and ironing out. I asked if it was SAB related, and they both tweeted back that it is not. But I would LOVE a spin off with Emmett & Bay around the time the show naturally comes to an end.
