Season 2 Spoilers

• Madame Kali is going to be the Big Bad of Season 2, and it sounds like both she and Ferdinand Lyle will become regulars. There was a cut scene between them from the finale which hints about the lengths some women will go for beauty and youth. She also recites the following poem: "What games we'll have, Ms. Ives and I. Where one will live and one will die."
• The Dracula story is far from over, with another character from that world being brought into the fold in S2.
• John confirmed that Victor and Dorian are definitely going to meet but didn't shed any light as to why and how.
• The writers want to do the Island of Dr. Moreau at some point in the show.
• Ethan will be getting a flashback episode either in Season 2 or 3. John revealed that his father was a "titan of industry" and a "monstrous man", suggesting he hurt Ethan somehow as a child. He still seems undecided as to what the origin of Ethan's lycanthropy will be though.
• We will learn more about Malcolm and Sembene but not necessarily get the full backstory any time soon.
• Killing off Van Helsing was John's way of letting the fans know he's not obligating himself to recreate the original stories.
• The ultimate question underlying the show is "Who is Vanessa Ives?" Next season will begin answering whether she invited the demon in or if she's really a victim. According to John the truth is somewhere in between.
• They will be getting deeply into theology next year. Despite what he told Victor, Ethan actually does believe in God.
• In the second season, The Creature is forced to choose a new moniker and he picks the name of a dead poet. Logan denies that he was intentionally referencing "Phantom of the Opera" with the way the character evolved.
• John Logan emphasized that sex isn’t a bad thing in his world and denies that the lesson of Vanessa’s story is one of negativity towards female sexuality. He also says he wants to deal with all forms of sexual expression on the show and, rather than peg any character into a set orientation, maintains that he feels human beings ‘behave in the moment in ways that are true to them’.
• John's still exploring different ways to reveal or not reveal Brona's identity as the Bride to Ethan in S2. He definitely plans to focus on the Ethan/Vanessa connection a lot more though.
• The cast starts shooting again in September.

2x01 - "Fresh Hell" - May 3rd
Season Two begins with Vanessa Ives (Eva Green) barraged by an onslaught of disturbing occult images brought on by the mysterious Evelyn Poole (Helen McCrory). Because of the massacre he committed in the Mariner’s Inn, Ethan Chandler (Josh Hartnett) decides to leave London. Under pressure from The Creature (Rory Kinnear), Dr. Frankenstein (Harry Treadaway) works to bring Brona (Billie Piper) back to life. After Mina’s funeral, Sir Malcolm (Timothy Dalton) returns to London to discover that a whole new evil is hunting Vanessa.

2x02 - "Verbis Diablo" - May 10th
Haunted by the witches, Vanessa (Eva Green) seeks solace from Sir Malcolm (Timothy Dalton). Scotland Yard Inspector Rusk (guest star Douglas Hodge) searches for the sole survivor of the Mariner’s Inn Massacre. Evelyn Poole (Helen McCrory) enchants Sir Malcolm. Dr. Frankenstein (Harry Treadaway) gives the re-born Brona (Billie Piper) a new identity. The Creature (Rory Kinnear) gets a new job. Dorian Gray (Reeve Carney) meets an intriguing woman with a secret. Ferdinand Lyle (Simon Russell Beale) reveals the disturbing backstory of the Verbis Diablo. 2x03 - "The Nightcomers" - May 17th
In a flashback episode, Vanessa (Eva Green) meets The Cut-Wife (special guest star Patti LuPone), who teaches her how to harness her powers. Isolated at her lonely cottage on the moors, The Cut-Wife quickly realizes the extent of Vanessa’s powers and warns her of the danger that lies ahead and the evil that pursues her.
