The second season begins with Mary and Francis on the throne of a nation burning. France is rocked by the aftereffects of the plague -- a disease that creeps inside the castle walls, taking thousands upon thousands of lives across the land, and ravages the stability of a nation. From the ashes, powerful lords will rise, carrying out personal, religious and political vendettas, taking lives, and tearing at Mary and Francis’s commitment to each other, and their people. Friendships will be tested, loved ones murdered and betrayed. Meanwhile, a mysterious and deadly threat snatches victims from village streets and castle corridors; leaving evidence of savagery that looks like the work of monsters; mythical creatures who are the subject of nightmares, but who walk among us, doing the Devil’s bidding.

MARY’S ACTIONS DRIVE CONDE INTO THE ARMS OF ANOTHER…QUEEN — Mary (Adelaide Kane), with the threat of England looming, aligns herself with France and thus, the ailing Francis (Toby Regbo). Condé (Sean Teale) makes a bold move that would tie him to England. With all of the turmoil, Catherine (Megan Follows) and Narcisse (Craig Parker) work to win favor in court. Meanwhile, Kenna (Caitlin Stasey) gets closer to General Renaude (guest star Vincent Nappo) as Bash (Torrance Coombs) becomes increasingly distant. Rose Williams, Jonathan Keltz, Caitlin Stasey and Anna Popplewell also star. Deborah Chow directed the episode written by Nancy Won and Robert Doty (#219).

2x20: Fugitive

MARY’S PLAN TO HELP CONDE BACKFIRES — Mary (Adelaide Kane) goes to extremes to halt Francis (Toby Regbo) from his quest to catch Condé (Sean Teale) at any cost. Catherine (Megan Follows), jealous of Narcisse’s (Craig Parker) relationship with Lola (Anna Popplewell), asks him to do something unforgiveable to prove himself, Kenna (Caitlin Stasey) crosses a line with General Renaude (guest star Vincent Nappo) and Greer (Celina Sinden) makes a choice that might end her relationship with Leith (Jonathan Keltz). Torrance Coombs and Rose Williams also star. Norma Bailey directed the episode written by Doris Egan and Daniel Sinclair (#220).

MARY’S LOYALTIES ARE TESTED WHEN SHE MAKES A HEART-WRENCHING DISCOVERY — As troops are about to descend on the castle, Mary (Adelaide Kane) and Francis (Toby Regbo) must put aside their differences to determine the extent of Condé’s (Sean Teale) betrayal. Mary also learns of a bittersweet revelation that tears her apart and makes her question everything. Meanwhile, Catherine (Megan Follows) decides to teach Narcisse (Craig Parker) a lesson to prove he can never cross her again and Bash (Torrance Coombs) decides to bring Delphine (guest star Alexandra Ordolis) to the castle. Caitlin Stasey, Anna Popplewell, Celina Sinden, Jonathan Keltz and Rose Williams also star. Andy Mikita directed the episode written by Adele Lim and Lisa Randolph (#221).

^^As the mother of the king's child? But this shot of Catherine/Narcisse than back to this convo between Narcisse/Lola makes me think even more that he's using Catherine to gain power and that there is nothing remotely genuine there. Gotta keep the act going until you finally get what you want.

That's also probably a set up to what's coming in 2.20 with Catherine asking Narcisse to do something awful involving Lola.

I think you're right. He's still trying to regain his power and he'll do anything to come up on top, so I think he's manipulating Catherine. That became apparent as soon as he took advantage of her weakness when Francis fell ill. Is it possible that when he tells Lola of the position she holds, he's trying to get her to do something for him? The way he says it sounds like he's trying to convince her that she has the ability to carry out some task.

I don't think he's trying to get her to do something. I didn't get that from the promo. More like make her understand in his own very way what he is doing. I wonder if Lola sees him with Catherine. Again the events that are going to happen in 2.20 are important and it's going to be interesting to see if he's really ready to do just about anything to get what he wants. We know that he cares about Lola. Is he ready to do something bad if it costs him the little he has with her?

It definitely will be. I'm interested to see how far he goes. I can't imagine what Catherine is going to ask him to do when she gets "jealous". The concept of Catherine De Medici getting jealous is ridiculous in itself, so what would she possibly want him to do to prove himself? I'm always at a loss when it comes to this show and its logic.

I'm not that surprise about Catherine insecurities considering how she has been written lately. She ils probably going to think "I'm an old woman who can't have children or anything to give him"

Catherine being jealous of Lola bc of Narcisse is ridiculous! She wasn't jealous (or pretended not to care) of Henry's whor#s AND she LOVED Henry.. Why would she be jealous now? It's ridiculous! But let's see we know that the synopsis is not always what it seems to be so let's hope the story will be different!
