TFNT!
I haven't seen the episode so I don't know how GOT-y Lola's death was, but I do think it may have been a good idea. We probably ran out of contrived ways to off these poor LIW and there were little solutions to write off a character who was getting fond of influencing queens. Also, her death triggers a lot of things, makes sense and gets to off the character making her look like a good friend and subject. We knew from the otherwise useless English guy that Elizabeth is just like her father: the closer you get, the more danger you run. We now understand that was foreshadowing. Lola played with fire and Elizabeth forgave her at least once before. Her attachment to her hostage was as sweet as it was essentially one sided: she treated her well (I dare say better than Mary), she trusted her and saught her friendship and was betrayed. Twice. That's more than it ever took Henry VIII to cut off one's head, tbh. Lola must have known it. This also sets Elizabeth as way less forgiving, and more ruthless, than Mary, establishing yet another difference with her cousin. But mostly, this gives Mary another reason to resent and fight her (let's not forget Elizabeth is the villain in this show, however sympathetic). It also leaves John an orphan, and John is Francis's son. I'm going to assume Mary will want him with her as a part of her late husband, but Elizabeth may well keep him with herself as hostage. He is a potential Valois heir after all. From a shippy pov, this gets to keep Narcisse where he belongs (France) without breaking off LN terribly. Most shippers wouldn't have wanted the romance ruined, even though it frankly was, and they now know that at least they tried to fix things. __________________

Yes, they made Narcisse look like a good guy so people won't hate him in S4

Thank God, it's nonsense ended for Anna. I look forward to new projects for her. Lola has a lot of fans. They are not on the forum, and they have little say in the social media. But I know that a lot of them. I end with this show. Like many viewers.

Francis dying didn't change the ratings a lot so I doubt Lola's death will tbh

I'm not talking about ratings. They therefore have fallen in the last episode. I think Season 4 will be even worse. Simply, the audience did not know who to look no further. I was absolutely impressed by the newcomers. And to the rest do not care. I no longer interesting storyline of France, Scotland did not impress.

S4 is gonna be so good can't wait
From the description we got about Narcisse' son it seems like Narcisse will be back in France soon. Looking forward to this. __________________

At first I liked Lola and Narcisse but she's such a boring character who claims higher moral ground despite her actions (sleeping with Francis). The show without Francis is more mature, from now on Mary's life went downhill, will the creators stay true to the history? I'm not a sadist but I want Mary to struggle and not just fall in love like a teen so that's why I've enjoyed the show after Francis' death. Do you think Catherine and Narcisse will have a strong connection again?

^ agreed about your Lola comment. Also, I have no idea about Catherine and Narcisse... I thought maybe he will go to Scotland which would be so stupid but it seems like he won't and he will come back to France because his son is there too.
And the spoiler said he wants his son to marry Claude I don't know if there will be something romantically but after their last scene I would be surprised if there wouldn't be anything between Catcisse in S4. I think Laurie loves writing for them. I remember the Summer Soiree interview (I think it was that one) where I became the impression she loves their scenes just like Craig and Megan __________________

Night with Francis, the only sin of Lola. In which she repented many times. In this show there are characters that have a lot more sins. But no, they take decent characters, leaving those who deserve to die anymore. They scored third-rate actors who stand out a beautiful appearance. But do not cling at all. I do not feel the charisma in them.
Show cut the budget and Anna has become expensive for them. But I'm glad that she finally left. And I was finally able to finish this show. |
