I'm sorry but that problem isn't Caro's exclusive. It's also Matt and Bonnie's problem too. And when she was with Matt she got a lot of screentime with him and people also complained she had no storyline. I remember it.

And now she is barely getting screentime with Tyler and most of her life revolves around Stefan. So I'm sure Tyler isn't the problem.

And being Klaus distraction isn't a storyline either.

tftnt Chelsey Caroline really does need a story line. Would like it if She and Tyler had more scenes together, especially now after his mom's death.

at least she had a voice while she was with Tyler. I liked Steroline when it was about Caroline, not about Elena. they only talked about Elena this season. their only topic is Elena.

edit - no she didn't. early season 3 all she did was a) share a scene with tyler, b) ask where tyler was, c) talk about tyler.

I don't think their relationship is toxic. But I can see that some people think that way because lately it has been all about Stefan and Stefan getting the cure. A lot of people loved SC friendship in S2 because they had a more "normal" friendship. They talked about their lives and helped each other. Now it's all about Elena and the cure.

that is not a reflection on SC and how toxic they are. it is a reflection on the toxicity of the triangle and how it has infiltrated all elements of the show.

The entire show is about the triangle, that's why. I feel like above all, it's Caroline supporting Stefan when he needs it the most. And her support happens to be talking to him about his biggest struggle right now which is Elena.

THIS. I loved their friendship. it was so genuine and fun. and now they're fixated on turning Elena back human. It didn't use to be about her owing him for her life. but now, after 2 seasons, that's suddenly the main reason why Caroline blindly trusts him and is fixated on this quest just because of him.

of course I want her to be there for Tyler. but I also want her to have an opinion about the cure.

She has an opinion. It was all over 4x07, she couldn't understand why Elena was acting so different. Now that she knows she's sired, it's even more urgent because of Damon. She doesn't trust him to not take advantage of her friend.

How is that not her own opinion? This is far more about Elena than it is Stefan, she's helping Stefan because they both believe in the same thing.

I agree with that. I think that a lot people are upset (and some of them even stopped liking SC) because one of the few genuine fun friendships the show had has been made all about the triangle. People liked SC in S2 because it was different and it brought something fun and light to the show.

I understand that Caroline needs to be there for Stefan but they should balance their scenes more. They need to talk about something else apart from Elena and DE.
