yeah, this show is legit cray cray I'm so over it, but I have invested 5 years so I will see it through. Thank God next year is the last.

I'm starting to really believe the finale will be a FRINGE crossover event. Or we've been watching the movie version of INSIDE for the past year. Because nothing is making any sense anymore.

So Blair still loves Chuck and Dan sleeps with Serena and they show it all in the promo?
OK, pretty sure I'm actually done with this show. These writers don't have the balls to tell coherent storylines so they just repeatedly throw out-of-character curveballs to "shock" and "wow" us. I have nothing against CB and DS fans having their day, my issue is just how tacky they went about it. After a handful of episodes of (occasional) relative sanity they just chuck all character development out the window for the OMFG factor. It's just embarrassing. I don't know why I allowed myself to get invested these last couple years when I knew the truth all along: *my* Gossip Girl died and went to hell in 2008. |

I think Blair will choose Dan, I don’t see the point of the DS drama if she chooses Chuck and clearly there will be DS drama. Plus Dan’s comment to Serena about her manipulating him leads me to believe she somehow convinces him that Blair has either left him for Chuck or cheated with Chuck when this isn’t actually the case (otherwise, how would it be a manipulation?). I think Dan is probably angry, drunk and vulnerable and Serena probably throws herself at him. She’s kind of beyond pathetic at this point and I think that’s the most likely scenario, she’s clearly obsessed with Dan and wants him back desperately so I certainly wouldn’t put it past her. Plus given that Dan feels she tricked him into it I’m guessing she obviously makes the first move. At the end of the day though, Dan doesn’t want Serena and I think this will be made clear… I just hope he stops things before they actually have sex… but we’ll see. Not sure if Blair is going to find out about DS because she sees it happen or what. Obviously the DS scene takes place at the party, and I remember Carolyn’s spoilers about Serena trying to keep Blair away… Clearly they’re introducing some major drama for Dan and Blair because they plan on continuing their story next season, why else would they bother? So while it might hurt to watch I have faith that it’s leading somewhere… somewhere other than DS and CB reunions in the finale and a ‘shiny, happy couples holding hands’ vibe for the final season. But given that the whole point of GG is weaving an intricate web of who ends up with who etc. I really don’t see that happening |

I watched the livestream for the first time ever last night and have to say, live watching is clearly not for me.
I had to go to bed immediately afterwards since it was the middle of the night for me, so I had no time to deal with my whirlwind of emotions like I usually do. I did imagine the online fandoms exploding though especially after the promo... I haven't read much reactions yet, will try to do it after posting this, if I can stomach it. My thoughts: Minuses: -what the f was up with the Canadian promo? Like seriously? Coming straight from ep 23, how do DS end up even kissing? Was I watching a different show? My livestream was twitchy at places, maybe I'll have to watch the DB and DS scenes again in HD. -I really really really hope DS won't hook up. I hated the Campbell apartment bit. I can deal with S kissing him out of whatever her reason is and him stopping her (not that it looked like that very much in the promo), and even with B misunderstanding and thinking they hooked up - but as long as they really didn't and it's cleared up by S6 finale at the latest. -seriously, what's wrong with the writers... Fine, stir up drama, but this is just a stupid way to go about it. First they are convincing us that DB are the perfect couple in every healthy way and then they throw - well, I'm not even sure what they are throwing DB's way cause none of it makes sense to me. -seriously, the whole Bart death was dealt with in 10 min and now he's safely back to the living? Could they not have found out all that in S2 if it was that easy? And who's C's mom, then? Pluses: +DB hitting trouble this season bodes well for S6 +the fact that the actual hook-up part in the promo did not show the guy's face bodes well - if it was Dan, why even hide it? +B's "last" ILY will (hopefully) now be saved for Dan and (hopefully) it will be a beautiful scene after all this build-up +setting B's ILY to be a fairly big deal spells the seven-letter word (starting with E) for me I want to be optimistic because we all knew this all h e l l breaking loose thing was coming anyway, but still, I just feel dumbfounded. I don't really get what's happening and right now I'm not sure that I will even after watching the finale. Based on promos and spoilers, the things they are supposed to be cramming in that hour seem so numerous yet illogical. If we have to wait til January I'm gonna need a lobotomy to forget about all this in the mean time to be able to go on with my life and not waste an entire year (I'm kidding, obviously.) (Partly.) (A little bit.) When I went to bed last night I tried to remind myself that I'm a grown-up, I shouldn't be this affected, and that all these characters are made up and don't really even exist: IRL Leighton's in a beautiful dress at the MET ball and Penn's happily off somewhere doing his hipster-y things |
