But there was still the Serena/Nate, Blair/Nate, and Jenny/Nate ships pre-established. If she has a guy who is introduced a Vanessa's love interest, he's hers. No pre-existing ships are disrupted. Those shippers can breathe easy. It establishes Vanessa as her own character, since she's not supporting Dan or Nate or Chuck's storyline. A character is being introduced to support her storyline. Get her out of all of the shippy stuff, have the judgmental-ness tone down, and then give her her own plot, maybe the hate would cool down a little bit? If the writers want to keep Vanessa, they need to do that. It's the best way to say, "Look, she's not going anywhere. Get used to it."

To me it feels more like the triangle will take a break than end abruptly. And that's for the best.

Dan/Nate will put their feelings for S in the back-burner... while they do something with their life instead of only acting as Serena's lame love interests (Dan and Blair helping Serena against the plotters, and Dan/Blair working for that fashion magazine).

The triangle will come back in full force by the last third of the season for sure.

Loved CB. The banter was well-written. Hated that the editing in their last scene was so rushed. It didn't come close to rival the train station scene. I actually thought it was more intense on paper. The editing in the whole episode favoured the Serena storyline which is fine I guess if that is what the writers want to focus on. Just strange when the promo had nothing but CB in it.

Serena's male issues are starting to bore me. It feels repetitive and she looks extremely stupid. If they don't go in a new direction with it soon, it's going to be a total drag. The DNS triangle already feels completely dead to me since Serena's feelings are all over the place. I have no idea why Dan continues to pine for her. She treated him pretty bad last night.

The writers must hate Vanessa because really? She's been obnoxious in the past but this time they took it to a whole new level and they didn't even give her motive beyond being jealous of Serena and wanting to clear her own name.

All in all an ok episode but it didn't live up to my expectations

Right now it doesn't even seem like a legit triangle: it's a bunch of obstacles thrown in DS' reunion & N fighting for S on his own.

For crying aloud Serena saw Nate calling and she pressed IGNORE.
If that ain't telling.
And if don't wanna consider all the other signs.

I guess they'll keep 2 triangle for to more episodes to use it for the Masquerade's episode purposes only.

I haven´t watched it yet so be back with comments. Have even managed to not peak at the ending scene. I want to see it in hole. But I have a thought about the SDN triangle. Something must happen that reactivates it. Like it looks now Nate is the odd man out and S´s feelings are quite clear in favour of D. So, we know there will be an addition to the triangle. What if that is for Nate? Makes S jelous and activates it again? She did say at the beginning of the season that if she goes with D she will always love N aswell and vice versa..

The serena friends' club stroke again.
I mean poor girl, it's just too hard to figure out who she loves? In the meantime let's have the professor lose his job why not? and get D to come as a stand-in? And well throw in B jeopardizing her columbia future to cover for her ****tiness and it's a good day in SVDW's life

I really really wonder why V is so evil . Doesn't she know that everyone's life should revolve around S and that she should want to lose to S. After all it's the girl who outshine EVERYBODY??? that girl's so silly!

Yea, it sucks. But, it looks like they are taking Nate out of the equation and giving DS a guest star as their (hopefully final) obstacle. That's a good sign.
