I agree with this too.

Oops, just came home and realized I misread your post CH. Thought you were talking about L/C since the debate centered on their shipper-ness vs. LL's.

My apologies.

And no chuppah? Not even in the garage? Was the boat in the garage?

Thanks for the thread and the tour report.

Copperboom emailed me pictures from her tour today, and asked me to post them on the threads. The first 2 are inside the TH, the others are self-explanatory, I think... or maybe not...lol. Ciaobella, she said the boat is in the garage, still full of junk. The 3rd pic is the glaring space where the chuppah used to be, and the last one is the torn up sod that they'd just put down.

Copperboom
said the boat was in the garage. The chuppah is apparently nowhere to be seen.

LC are both intellectuals, both rebel against the values they were brought up with (whearas Luke doesn't question them), but most importantly, both LC are concerned with other people, in general. Luke dislikes people. (Yes, he is loyal to his friends--moreso than Lorelai & Rory are--but generally he is a hermit. LC are the opposite of that.)
I don't think either Lorelai or Christopher are intellectuals. Lorelai is smart for sure, but she doesn't read Proust, she reads "I'm with the Band" kind of books. Chris admitted himself that he was never going to get into Princeton. His big interests are music and his motorcycle. Doesn't make him stupid, but it sure doesn't make him an intellectual.

Lorelai is definitely concerned about other people, but I've never seen Chris do one thing that was completely altruistic. Chris only thinks about Chris. I think that's his biggest flaw actually.

ETA: Thanks for the pictures. Poor lonely chuppah

The boat was still in the garage, but I weep for the missing chuppah. Gilbert! Secretly hope it's just off getting repaired or something since it's been sitting out there so long. Who knows.

A few pics. I took too many again.

Luke's all better. And there seems to be a ledge by the window. I never noticed that before.

Lorelai's front yard is all torn up and not looking pretty. And of course, the big empty space where the chuppah always used to be.

The rest are here

ETA: I'm slow. But I got up really, really early. That's my excuse.

I agree. Just look at everything that Lorelai does for the town. You could use the "there is no such thing as a selfless act" argument here, but I don't think it's relevant.

Christopher is an intellectual? What?

And where the hell is the chuppah?

The ledge was there before - I took this one when the diner was being set up for the crash:

Maybe Lorelai threw it out in 7.01?

I must've never noticed when I was in there before. I'm easily distracted by shiny things.

1) Give up his happiness with the woman he loves (Lorelai) when Sherri is pregnant

2) Not call the the woman he loves (Lorelai) when Rory asks him not to.

3) In CR tries to buy Rory the Compact Oxford English Dictionary even though his business is failing

4) Offers the woman who continually refuses to marry him $$$ when he inherits, even though he knows she's engaged and won't marry him.

5) Comes to see Rory's Rising Stars of Journalism symposium.

I guess I must disagree

Has it been wet in LA? the turf out side the CS looks like crap or is this part of the shoot?

I thought the diner looked different, or maybe since we know what happened it will never feel the same?

Gen, do you know what's up with everything against the window in the pics of Luke's? Are they not ready to film in there, or are they filming Luke's with Luke still re-setting everything up. Oh, and thanks for the pics!

The idea that Luke doesn't read is true sometimes (duh what is DAR?) and false other times (Dylan Thomas taking all the booze from Doose's). I guess the coorect answer is that he reads enough!
