I don't think Chuck's redemption arc will be as slow and well done as it NEEDS to be. But I think they'll put alot more effort into it than the Dan/Milo/Georgna story. The reason I say that is because it's obviously Chuck's KEY storyline. In contrast, we have no clue if Dan/Milo/G is supposed to be "the story" or not. Nor do we know if it's really over.

It doesn't have to be a brand new role that they have to cast for. All signs point to Blair moving on. It's alluded to in the premiere, she's going through a healthy grieving process now, she isn't taking Chuck back and she's not forgiving him, etc. I GUARANTEE you B will move on bb. They aren't keeping her single this season.

RE: casting call

Why are they all listed together like that? Is it possible the athletes and little people are for "mr poppers penguins"? The rest all sound like standard GG extras..

The prince might come back for 3-4 episodes? Who else would have been already casted? Cameron?

But 3-4 episodes is hardly a serious relationship unless the Prince shows up before mid-season and they have a long distance relationship.

ETA: I know that she will move on but that doesn't necessarily imply a relationship.

Aaron (ugh. But she did namecheck him last season )
Damien (how long is he back?)
Scott (hey. Maybe DB foreshadows this HELL!!! )
Prison Boy (my personal favorite!! )
Carter (maybe they got Seb back for a small run? Blair talks about their brief "relationship" in 3x5 I think? It was when Chuck was giving her the Bassauge. )
The dude that told her she was hot in 3x19?
Ben, the guy she met when Chuck ditched her at the heliport in S1 (S1 callback!)
Maybe the writers will throw us all a loop and give her Nate or Dan. Maybe it's the season for Serena to LOSE one of her men to Blair?

The possibilities are pretty much endless.

He's got ties with both Chuck and Serena too so that's a very interesting possibility.

Of course Louis is the front runner.

I think because they're giving her the time to move on now, to mourn the relationship normally. Because they didn't give her a guy all summer that when they do give her a relationship it may stick for awhile and be different.

I hate him. Poor Desmond H, always gets shat on playing the jerkface roles (see: Quinn - Dexter). He just does it SO WELL.

They have to bring back Jack, but I don't know WHY they would, since in his mind he's already completed his domination of Chuck. But they can't just leave it as is, with the villain winning..

It would be interesting, right? Serena went to boarding school with him - VERY S1! (Everything is so S1 with a twist this season). Chuck knows he's a scumbag after last season. Damien left in a very abrupt way.
It could tie back to Blair/Jenny. Hmmm?? I really want to know how long Damien is around this season.

I'm also intrigued by the idea of Carter/Blair. (I"m not sure how likely this is since Seb's film career is really taking off.) But the thing I would like about this angle is that IMO Carter/Chuck is the closest mirror to Blair/Jenny. It's all about the mentor and the protegee.

Unfortunately, after rewatching S1 & 2... I really, really don't like Carter. At all. Sorry to those who do, I just really do not like.

So, I don't know that would work for me, I'd never buy a serious relationship because I can't stand him and would hate every second.

A fling however? Bring it on, I survived it once, pretty sure I could do it again.

I would love a Carter/Blair attempt. I think what doesn't work with the Prince is that he's too bland. He fits the ideals and entire fairytale thing, but he doesn't have any scheming edge to him. Cameron had more a scheming edge and he barely talked.

I agree though that it's unlikely, career movie wise and probably personal wise.

Haha. I LOOOOVE Carter. You want to hear something interesting? I read that he and Blair were supposed to end up together in the S1 finale. I read it in an interview with one of the GG producers. Initially Chuck was supposed to miss the flight to Tuscany because Bart died in a car accident. Then Blair was supposed to spend the whole summer with Carter Baizen. But they rewrote the finale (probably because it would be nonsensical for Blair to be completely unaware all summer long of what happened to Chuck).

But anyway, the point is it makes me wonder if the showrunners have been interested in Carter/Blair in some capacity for a while. Of course they did NOTHING with them in S2. But that little scene while Chuck's giving Blair a massage was kind of interesting. It's the only time Chuck and Blair ever spoke of Carter/Blair's hookup. Although Serena mentions it in 3x2 as well. Hmmm???

That's true. We didn't know that Joan's Rapey Husband was playing Sam until right before filming began IIRC.

Double Identities: Chuck Bass vs. Blair Bass...Pauper vs. Prince

The scenario would be: several years later, Blair marries Jack...Chuck and Jack fight over a painting/building, or whatever, and Chuck kills Jack in self defense and marries Blair...Blair and Chuck have four children: two sons, and two daughters...And then a lawyer reveals to Blair that Chuck was, in fact, adopted by Bart, and then Chuck knows he isn't Bart's son via other methods and Blair begs him to abandon his search for his real father...Chuck obviously misunderstands the motivation of her pleas, and thinking she is ashamed of him being a Pauper because he can be a son of nonentity, not the prince living in Palace...Due to the help of the staff from Bass.Inc, Chuck finally realizes that he killed his biological father, Jack, and thus, he married his step-mother, Blair...The writing played up Blair being his mom bear for a reason, right?
