Next week is the crossover and she's probably not in it.

The cast for Elseworlds is (a bit) smaller than last year : Oliver, Barry, Kara, Clark (Supes), Batwmoman, Caitlin/KF, Cisco, Alex, James, Diggle, Iris and Felicity (i think). Probably a couple of others and the guests (Lois, Monitor, the Destiny villain).

Probably for the best. Seeing Iris kiss Oliver is weird enough. No point wasting those cute father daughter hugs on the wrong person.

Lois, iF I'm not mistaken, is only going to be in the Flash&Supergirl episodes, right?

Huge Lois Lane fan here wants to know... I'm only watching for the Barry/Iris and Lois&Clark.

i was so glad when I saw a spoiler pic that seems to indicate she is going to be part of the main fight! I'm only said Iris isn't. Because these two badass reporters/heroines should be there, preferably working together! I fear they are not even going to meet...

I’m just happy to watch any DCTV episode that Barry appears in. I still remember seeing his first appearance on Arrow back in season 2, and thinking “hope he gets his own show”. Now here we are.

Haha, really ? As soon as they announced the development of the show, it was all but a done deal.

Grant's successful appearance on Arrow season 2 completly sealed the thing.

I know a lot of Lois Lane fans on twitter that don't even watch any of the DC shows regularly, but are going to watch this because both Lois&Clark are there. They were all asking if they needed to catch up to watch the crossover.

As for Iris, it seems such a waste that she is not interacting with the most iconic DC journalist.

^ After watching that sneak peek, I'm just relieved we don't have to deal with the "Lois doesn't know about Clark and Kara's secret" drama. That would have dragged the story down .

things I liked:
- the humour
- Lois & Clark / Smallville theme song playing at the farm — prob gunna rewatch all seasons over the hiatus

things I loathed:
- why do they make it so painfully obvious that BOYS write these shows...the “do you need your wife in your ear — FELICITY INVENTED QUARTERBACKING” literally played like an argument I’ve seen a billion times on reddit

- I’m officially fed up with Iris not getting to be a reporter....no need to keep pretending it’s impossible for her to get her job at CCPN back bc THIS IS FICTION YALL, A FEW KEYSTROKES will do the trick — I’d rather see less of Iris & know THAT SHE IS AWAY WORKING ON HER CAREER than have her be the plot device designed to deliver great speeches...it cheapens them in my opinion, & they are doing nothing to make Iris her own person. I love WestAllen but all they write for her is “worries about Barry...gives him speech...high fives (they aren’t allowed to kiss)...tells ppl where to go...gives them a nice speech...hugs Barry”.

& I mean she’s probably terrified that he’s gunna disappear in the future but you know we’re not allowed to see that thought process or conversation lol so her character is completely wrapped up in Barry but her feelings and vulnerabilities are never allowed to be shown...MAKES SENSE.

I don’t wanna seem like I didn’t enjoy it or that I’m nitpicking but the CW is so self righteous they need to learn to ACTUALLY walk the walk if they’re gunna talk the talk

I agree with everything you said but I'd take Iris at STAR Labs over her working on her career off screen. That would be reminiscent of s2. I want her to build her own paper and for it to be shown on screen.

This show lacks continuity. I loved 5x04 and 5x05 for Iris and WestAllen but everything after that has been the barest of minimum. I should have known. It was too good to be true

After the ordeal with Savitar Iris has regressed as a journalist, she's a blogger now but that doesn't mean she can't have scenes with Kara, Clark and Lois in a crossover, especially when they deleted a scene of Lois talking to Caitlin Snow of all people.

But it's a crossover and the focus is on superheroics.

I think this episode tried hard to differentiate Barry and Oliver, that's why they focused on Barry's lighthearted side that's not THAT prominent in most episodes of his own show. Even the PDA was over the top, with Cisco bear-hugging Oliver as well. The Flash characters may be more cuddly but thay're not THAT cuddly.

Nora missing from the episode was weird. No mention of Nora at all was even weirder.

It may look like I didn't enjoy the episode but I did for the most part I loved seeing the Smallville farm and the WestAllen moments were very good

I hope Kara gets a bit more in the other episodes. We may complain about Iris, and for good reasons, but Kara is a lead and gets nothing compared to Barry and especially Oliver in these crossovers.
