I was kinda somewhat hoping the rift between Joe and Iris would be a little worse, like someone said before, that Francine mightve died before Iris found out about her still being alive, maybe have her have some resentment toward Wally as well but yeah all of that was resolved very quickly, unless they plan on revisiting it at some point down the road. But hopefully this episode will steer the show in a new direction for the rest of the season, even though it does kind of seem like they'll just have it revert back to the original timeline anyway with the way everyone is "moving on"

Just because Joe and Iris made up, it doesn't mean that the timeline has not been reverted back. Barry made it clear that the changes are now set and he cannot undo what he had done. Just as the timeline changes were set in the past. And with Caitlin Snow and Jesse Wells (or Quick) developing powers, it looks as if the show is going forward to something new. I'm now wondering if the same will happen to Wally. __________________

I thought the episode was good except for the unwanted guest guess it was a way to show one thing that changed on arrow. But wtf? Is that not completely jacked up? Instead of Diggle having Baby Sara they have Baby John!!!
Anyway who cares for that mess. I was just relieved that Iris / Joe made up so fast and it was as minor as it was, it didn't need to be dragged out, and I loved how the three of them swung past jitters Joe's treat!!! Love that they are so close... WA continue to be adorable and I'm good with the high sugar intake for now, the way he touched her leg and they both leaned in great to see Barry going for it and not being scared of rejection anymore bc he knows they are fated. Iris saying he'll always be Barry and she'll always be Iris.. that they always find each other now we get their first DATE!!! __________________

Two fun eps back-to-back and so far, for me, s3 is definite improvement on anything post-1b. The show feels cohesive, like it's telling a larger story and not just a series of one shots just meeting x quotas per ep (cue Wells being shady; cue Cisco cracking jokes; cue Iris cameo; cue Joe/Barry teary hug...) getting stapled together via convoluted plot points. The writing is C+ at best, but fun and watchable, which is a big change imo.
Cisco - MVP. Badass moment plus he gets to be mad at Barry. Barry has been a ****ty friend to him since s1 imo, so watching this turn is absolutely delicious. Sad as I am about his hot bro. Iris - Good to see her back to that s1 proactive, take no **** self. 2a Iris was ooc to me, so this is course correction. (Also confirmation that Iris has her own place, wooh!). Those STAR lab scenes were awesome without Wells around. Iris laying down the law, and just the general dynamic was a lot cleaner and less cluttered. Not happy about Joe/Iris patching things up, but I have a feeling they did that because the cause for conflict was kinda old and they'll probably need something new for a lasting s3 conflict. I'm probably being naive there... Also Candice is getting more gorgeous, how is she real? Wally - Adorable. He's an awesome addition at the STAR scenes. And at dinner, lol. Caitlin - Wow, something interesting happened to her! I'm glad she's keeping this a secret, hope it turns disastrous. I hope she kills Wells off...wishful thinking. Jay - Fantastic scene. Brings up the most important point, and gives a solid character driven reason for Barry to stop effing up the timeline. Tom Felton - Can he be a secret Thawne please? Love him. He was hilarious at first, then that scene at the end gave me actual chills. Menacing and deliciously complex, in the way Wells used to be in s1. Felicity - I didn't mind her much. Maybe because they weren't hardcore MarySuing-her by revolving the ep around her and going OTT with her importance to CCers, but just let her be a side player. ...poor Baby Sara! Wish Wells would stay gone. Dr. Alchemy!!! And Barry being the awkward clueless one was adorable. (But Grant needs to stop those Dementor Kiss lip puckering. The date kiss thankfully looks a lot better) __________________

Ok, I officially hate the writers' terrible attempt at Flashpoint. Baby Sara is no more and worse, Cisco's brother dies? Take it back!!
The Joe/Iris twist..well...that was painfully predictable. Overall, last night's episode was better than the premiere but that's not saying much. Oh well... lol __________________

I really don't get Barry not telling them Wally was Kid Flash. I know he didn't want to tell them what they were like in the other universe, but it's not like Wally's part of it is emotionally compromising like Cisco's is. Plus he knows that people are getting their powers back so why the hell would he not say "oh yeah Wally will probably become a speedster soon fyi."

I don't remember what the explanation was for John Jr. on LoT though. __________________

I don't think there was an explanation. I think everyone just assumed that he was baby Sara's brother because they never stated otherwise which makes sense if they were unaware of the timeline change.
Also really nice connecting because they literally went over my head . __________________

I don't watch The Flash to see her either. It's one thing when we have true crossover episodes (it's unavoidable to have to see her since she stars in every, single, one of them ) but the randomness in this episode was lame. I found this part completely stupid, unnecessary and ridiculous. |
