Well...it is a life-without-Sheldon thing so I guess it doesn't seem strange to me.
I find it pretty funny actually. I love them as good friends so I guess
I can entertain the thought. Who knows how they'd be together as a couple.
(Karaoke date nights? XD)
I'm rather intrigued to see, just like with the Penny/Stuart thing.

I don't trust all those rumors floating around on twitter right now but it could be a funny storyline. It would be Sheldon and Amy reversed. Howard the horny, sexcraved guy and Amy the girl were "coitus is off the table". Perhaps it would be healthful for her to feel the "pressure" Sheldon seems to feel right now

However, I hope the people who go to the taping next week got to see the episode and can clarify some of the rumors

I could see Amy going on at least a date with Howard. I mean, it's an AU, so it's not like this episode has any real effect on the BBT cannon at large. I don't think if Penny dreams that she's dating Stuart that means that she really wants to date him and not Leonard. Or that Amy really wants Howard. I think it could be super interesting to see what they're all like in an alternate universe.

Okay I'm literally laughing out loud and flailing like a dumb idiot because ever since The Scavenger Hunt Howard/Amy is my new favourite crackship and I kind of want to write an AU where they're together. I even have my summary, and it is with "In a world where Sheldon and Bernadette do not exist, pathetic and sex-crazed Howard meets over-confident and virgin Amy at a Neil Diamond concert. They don't seem to have much in common, except maybe for their loneliness. Can they learn to be two parts of a whole?" Or something like that.
So basically this episode is going to be my fanfic.

This is a Christmas themed episode.

Sheldon is not in Pasadena, he is in Texas because Missy had a baby. (revealed at the end of the episode through a skype session with Amy)

Whilst Sheldon is gone, the gang imagine what their lives would be without Sheldon.

Bernadette imagines that she never talked to Howard, but in her scene she does imagine him there but doesn't talk to him

Raj or Howard imagine they are in fat (S&K wearing fat suits) and are eating cheesecake.. (I assume lonely fat guy stereotype.)

Penny imagines she is dating a "swagged out Stuart".

That's all we have for now. I did my best! No sign of Leonard's scenes yet, or really Howard or Amy's.

MISSY HAD A BABY SHELDON IS AN UNCLE.
Oh my gosh there is so much potential in this storyline!! I've always been against a permanent baby on TBBT for but they can easily write an episode where Sheldon has to take care of his nephew/niece and there is so much potential for hilarity there because Sheldon with a kid I'm sorry but this is gonna be good.
