The answer is in the last scene with Future Felicity and The Monitor. He's probably taking her to another Earth or a paradise-like dimention where Oliver will end up after the crisis.

There are no other Earths after the crisis. Only one.

I've looked it up, and in the Crisis comics, there is actually a pocket, paradise like dimension where Earth 2 Superman goes after sacrificing himself and join his Lois.

My bet is that Arrow did that story in reverse with Oliver and Felicity.

Regarding Felicity/Oliver-Felicity : the ending seems pretty final to me. Future Felicity will join Oliver wherever he ended up after the crisis.

I'm guessing they are doing with them what they did in the Comics with Golden Age Superman&Lois Lane (Earth-2). They were kept alive, alongside Prime Superboy and Alexander Luthor in a pocket Universe.

Why didn't they get William back? Did Oliver and Felicity really just abandon him?

I didn't watch the episode yet but I read on twitter that they wanted to ask for custody

They were planning on it. Until the monitor showed up.

Yeah, they were going to ask for shared custody.....but the Monitor showed up and took Oliver. I guess Felicity changed her mind then.

Like eveyone, i really wonder what season 8 will look like. For all intent and purpose, the show is over. There is only the crisis on the corner.

They waited rather long. They had a whole new child and left William.

Agreed. I do wonder how they'll fill the episodes. Good thing it's only 10.
