Rachel Bilson leads a stellar ensemble cast in this fish-out-of-water comedic drama about small-town living, big city attitudes and complicated love triangles. After three years, Dr. Zoe Hart (Rachel Bilson) is starting to feel at home in BlueBell, Alabama, and still continues to shake up life in this small town. Though they are no longer a couple, Zoe still finds herself drawn to bad boy Wade Kinsella (Wilson Bethel), and she and Wade continue to be friends with George Tucker (Scott Porter), who is still trying to figure his love life. Lemon Breeland (Jaime King) continues to pursue her dream of being a business owner, while always on the lookout for her true love. Zoe’s best friend and landlord, Mayor Lavon Hayes (Cress Williams), is determined to keep BlueBell the quaint town everyone has come to love, while AnnaBeth (Kaitlyn Black) has come into her own by co-running the local women’s social club, the Belles. After her difficult return to their shared medical practice, Zoe’s personal and professional relationship with Dr. Brick Breeland (Tim Matheson) seems to have gotten to a better place. Zoe’s love life is still a mess, and she’s not sure what the future holds in store for her, but we know it will be juicy and full of fun.

Any Hart of Dixie scoop? —Julianna
Is BlueBell big enough for two Zoe Harts? The CW charmer is looking for a twentysomething actress to play “Zoe 2.0,” a very attractive, fashionable, quick-witted, New York attorney struggling to make sense of life in the quaint Alabama burg. The character’s actual name isn’t actually Zoe 2.0. That would be weird and confusing. It’s Olivia Green. [x]
Actress who played Pamela Bailey in 405 will recur. Tweet was posted when they were filming 409. [x]
Michael Nardelli will recur as Dr. Halston in 409 and 410 [x]
Question: Aus, do you have anything to share for Hart of Dixie? —Nicole
Ausiello: A few weeks ago, Matt Mitovich regaled you with a little ditty about Dixie adding a character that sounded like the 2.0 version of Rachel Bilson’s Zoe. Well, allow me to welcome you to Dixie‘s upcoming O.C. reunion, bitch, because Autumn Reeser got the role! (The actress took advantage of the 60 seconds I had my guard down yesterday and broke the news herself.) ICYM MM’s Inside Line item on the character, Reeser will play Olivia, a very attractive, fashionable and quick-witted New York attorney struggling to make sense of life in BlueBell. She’s set to appear in the Season 4 finale. [x]
Question: My dear dear TV guru, I saw a very ominous tweet from the lovely Scott Porter which has me worried that Hart of Dixie will end after its upcoming fourth season. Please tell me it isn’t so! —Tina
Ausiello: No official decision has been made about a fifth season, but I’m told producers hedged their bets and wrote a Season 4 finale that could serve as a satisfying series finale, if need be. Probably a smart move considering Dixie barely survived to see a fourth season. [x]
Wilson Bethel says "the show is left in a really good place... It's really satisfying." [x]
"We've had a lot of love triangles on the show and something that fans can look forward to this year are a lot of those love triangles kind of becoming concluded as far as the storylines go," Scott Porter told us last month. "You'll see some clarity as far as who people are choosing and who people are going to end up with." [x]

Anything on Hart of Dixie? –Hannah
You may already know that in the Dec. 15 season opener, Zoe goes after Wade, Lemon returns early from her cruise and there’s a surprise visitor for Brick. But beyond that, Mircea Monroe’s Tansy is coming back, in Episode 6! But with that comes some bad news for certain ‘shippers. “I don’t feel like there’s still a hope for Tansy and George,” creator Leila Gerstein reveals. “She’s back in a completely platonic capacity, but for a really important storyline. She’ll also get her own version of happiness this year.” [x]
@leilargerstein #HartofDixie. Teaser 11. By season's end, at least one person will move away from BlueBell. For reals. #Byebye____. #12DaysofTeasers. [x]
The show is known for big and often wacky events. What can we expect in this fourth season in that vein?
It's packed! There is so much happening; the stakes are higher; there's a lot more in terms of story and in terms of life events. But it's all still in the Bluebell flavor, so there's a lot of singing and a lot of crazy townspeople doing their thing. I think it's our best season. [The season premiere deals with] a firefighter test. Episode three [has] a trip to New York City. Episode four, there's a big town talent show. We find that there's some surprise talent in Bluebell that actually carries on throughout the season; we find some unlikely stars in [town]! There are multiple proposals this year. There's a hoedown; there's a food truck war; we finally find out all of Tom Long's jobs. Tom and Wanda will have their baby this season. [x]
Did you approach any of these stories as if the end of the season would be the end of the series?
This season is for the fans, and they are going to love it. This is a season all the central questions, love stories and storylines do get wrapped up in a celebratory way, but there are still doors open. [x]
"Crickett is going to embark on her first relationship with a woman," Gerstein said. "We're going to see that journey. We're also going to see Crickett as a great friend to Annabeth and Lemon, and she'll continue with her particular brand of hilarity. But I'm so excited to see her new relationship evolve." [x]
Coming Up: "This is a season for the fans and we are building toward what will be an amazing, celebratory resolution," executive producer Leila Gerstein says of the truncated, 10-episode season many are speculating to be the romantic comedy's last. Star Wilson Bethel expounds on that: "It's a jam-packed season and by the end of it, it feels like a really nice bow is put on a lot of those relationships," he says. "By the last episode of this season, it's a pretty joyous affair."
What About George? It's not going to be all Zade, all the time. "You might see a career change for George Tucker over this final season," Scott Porter says. "You'll watch him figure out what he wants to do with the next portion of his life." — BH [x]
Following up on that, will viewers of “Hart of Dixie” get to see the brothers performing at the Rammer Jammer or anywhere else in future episodes? And if so, can you talk about whether George Tucker will still be in tow as their manager?
Yes, the season 4 finale has a big musical number! You’ll have to tune in to find if G.T. continues to manage The brothers Truitt!
Me either!! I find them cheesy... But we knew it was coming from the pics (or assumed)... I don't like it when the whole cast dances, reminds me of glee
