a friend of mine went to see it last night. she said that visually is great. she thought the movie doesn't have as much depth than the anime did (the whole body and soul theme).

I just learned they are rebooting it. I don't think it's because of the film perhaps doing bad at the box office. Other TV shows or films have gotten rebooted as Live Action shows & films lately as well & I think since Ghost in the Shell came out a fairly lengthy time ago originally that this is a good chance for a new generation of people to become fans of it.

Ok so Ghost in the Shell, I finally saw the live-action. Overall it wasn't bad for adaptation. It wasn't one of those "great visually but bad" movie.
The other thing that I wish was more in the movie was the soul-body theme which is the point of the Ghost in the Shell movie and it's why I like the original anime. Now this movie was more....action oriented. __________________
