Ty Davis Jr. / Coby Bell Appreciation # 12 ~ Demanding A Lot From Himself, Always

RECENT FILMOGRAPHY
2010 Burn Notice (TV series) : Jesse Porter
2010 Halo: Reach (Video Game) : Trooper Sgt 2 (voice)
COMPLETE FILMOGRAPHY LIST

MEMORABLE TY/COBY QUOTES

Coby Bell: (About working with Skipp Sudduth) He and became such good friends. We're still really tight. We would just make each other laugh all the time and then be real serious when the cameras were rolling. But when they yelled 'cut,' we'd start goofing around again

Coby Bell: When I first booked [Third Watch], I had just started dating my girlfriend, who is now my wife. We only started dating six months before and everything was going well and I get this job. They said, we were either going to shoot in San Francisco, Miami, Seattle or New York. So we didn't know for a week where I was gonna live. Then we found out and boom, I had to move to New York...took me a while to get used to. [New York's] just go, go, go.

I'm not really sure, of course, because in the cities, they don't take many chances with that and, back home, the government only cleared national roads.

One of our neighbours cleared our road with his bulldozer.

But I've seen on the news that some parts of New Jersey have been experiencing a lot of flooding, and I'm assuming a lot of that will be the winds kicking up the actual ocean unto the shores and such.

But flooding is also what happens when the ground has to handle a whole lot of melting snow all at once.

Especially if the ground itself is thawing after a freeze of some kind.

Another reason why they clear the snow right away in cities, maybe.
They just aren't even prepared for more than a couple of inches in the South.

Yeah, it's a Noreaster storm which always involves high winds, and huge waves, and flooding. We used to get those in Va. Beach.

The temps are rising slowly here, so there won't be too much chance of flooding right at the moment.

It's a Southern thing, that they don't have the equipment, or money set aside for sanding and salting.

We got used to Va. where they were prepared, and had money set aside for the weather.

I don't think anywhere could have been prepared for all that happened this time. Especially North of us.

Whew got the thread right this time. I think.

It was long, and I was afraid of losing it, despite copying it.

Thanks for the new thread... just be careful to not jump the gun too much, okay?

We're technically supposed to wait till we hit 300.

But good job starting the new thread indeed. You did great!

How's the snow situation going for you?

It snowed again here today, but then the temperature rose to the point where nothing accumulated on the ground.

I didn't know-it would have been 299 when I posted on the other thread, so I figured it was safe.

You're welcome. Thought I'd give you a break.

I'm glad to hear that the snow didn't accumulate there.

We still have about 12 inches on the ground, despite temps near 60 today.

But Wednesday they plowed a line in our driveway so we could get in and out.

We are going to Michael's, the craft store, in Asheville Monday, for our birthdays.

Mom's is tomorrow, so we're very close, and we never get to go to Michael's. I'm addicted to the place.

What have you been doing lately? Any knitting?

Don't worry about the thread.

I'm sure it's not the end of the world to start a few in a row before we hit the 300 level.

I thinks it's just me and the way I like to follow the rules.

It's been pretty warm the last couple of days, so the snow has melted a lot.

Of course, that means that there's ice in a lot of places, because it melts and then it freezes when the temperatures fall during the night.

At least the sidewalks are clear enough.

That's all I care about in the end.

I haven't knitted a whole lot lately, no.

You guys have Michael's, too?

That's where I get all my yarn because it's the cheapest by far.

I hope you enjoyed your trip there.

I just didn't know it was a rule rule. Does that make sense.

Now I know, and like you, I like following the rules, too.

It's how I keep order in my mind.

Glad to hear the sidewalks are clear.

We didn't go below freezing last night, and it's 60 degrees again today, so a lot melted overnight.

It is rough when ya'll go below freezing and freeze the melted snow.

I would not want to walk in that-so I'm glad to hear the sidewalks are pretty clear.

Thank you. We had a great time. I splurged and spent almost $30 on some pens to write with.

I'll use the heck out of them, so they were worth it to me.

Also got 2 coloring books. And an owl decoration that's pink, and I loved it.

Did you get tired of knitting? Or just not have anything you're working on?

Or, on the 3rd hand, are you just taking a break?

I'm not sure what the difference is between a rule and a rule rule.

And I'm pretty sure it's not that big of a deal.

I just like to follow the rules.

I don't like freezing temperatures, but that's what we have for months on end during the winter.

So it's really not the end of the bad.

The only problem is that we've having yet another "warmest winter on record."

So it's the succession of hot and cold that's making all that ice.

But, fortunately, it's been so freakishly warm that the sidewalks are clear.

The rest is just the normal vigilance you need to have when walking around during the winter.

I didn't get tired of knitting and I'm not taking a break either.

I don't always knit.

But I have been doing a lot of things, especially online, while trying to get to bed early.

So I probably just don't think of it.

A rule rule is one that does not get broken under any circumstance. Sorry.

Yeah, I remember you guys usually have it pretty rough, and for a long time.

Ah, that makes perfect sense, about your knitting.

It's like my coloring.

So I can relate to that.

I hope you are able to get to bed early.

HAHA! Love the shoveling guy! You are so good at finding appropriate gifs.

Are there rules that are never broken?

To me, all rules are important rules, you know?

Anyway, I've been trying to get to bed early and sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

It's funny, because in the time since I last posted, the snow had all melted.

So the shoveling guy wasn't actually appropriate anymore.

But then it snowed again yesterday.

It's not really surprising, is it?

Isn't that the way it goes?

You could have needed a shoveling gif earlier, but then after you post it, it snows again.

We're only supposed to get about an inch, if that, today and night.

Just high winds, and super low wind chills.

Have I told you how very much your scarf is being used now that winter comes and goes?

The cold is bitter cold, so it's used every day it feels like winter.

You spend most of your youth in the hospital, rules become something different probably.

I'm not completely insane about following every single rule there is just because they're rules.

But I do tend to follow the rules when I know they exist.

That's just how I'm made.

I didn't realize it was cold enough for you to use the scarf I sent you.

I'm glad it's useful.

We're having a very cold and windy week here as well.

Temperatures are meant to climb again next weekend.

I see how that would make a very big difference Sunny.

It's terrifying being in the hospital as an adult, and being a kid, with all the things going on, is really frightening I imagine.

I'm with you on following the rules.

I just remember someone telling me it was okay to start them a couple of posts early.

So that's why I thought to.

Oh heck yeah it's been cold enough. Below zero with wind chills, and in the 20's during the day.

The scarf has been my warm saver.

Our temps will raise into the lower 40's for about a week and a half, and we should hopefully get warmer after that.

I am glad your temps are going to go up some.

Being a kid in the hospital wasn't ever very scary for me.

It actually was much more reassuring to me than the rest of my life.

Again, probably why I'm so much into rules.

The world made sense in the hospital because everything had a rule to it.

That's not the case when you're outside.

Anyway, I'm the one who told you it was okay to start the threads a little earlier.

And I told you that one time because you started a new one at, like, 296 posts and I tried to tell you about the rule.

So you were beating yourself up about "jumping the gun" or whatever.

And I didn't think one thread would make that big of a difference in the end, so I told you it was okay.

But, you know... We're really supposed to wait till they hit 300.

On a lot of boards, the threads actually go a little beyond 300 before they start new threads.

Next week, we're gonna hover around -13F here, with a few dips below here and there.
