Oh, wait, you didn't mean me?!
Yeah, click on my WWW for my live journal. Thanks Sophy! I didn't post today...PMS on top of chaos...baaaaaaaaad for the brain...and temper. Hope it's not too much Tom Welling in the background for you...I'm just obsessed with the pretty right now. Karen Yeah-I got the card. I'd emailed you a couple of times-I don't know if you got them or not either! I was having to type in the addresses for a while. Sunny I've been dying to watch that lately...someday I might find the box it's in. Val I'm glad you're all safe! Frances shall be on top of us by morning supposedly...what's left any way. Virginia Beach-we got hit by all the effects of all of them so far this season...and now I'm wayyyyy inland and still gonna get it. I think Californians are laughing at the East Coast about right now. The damage of the hurricaines amazes me though-20 years in Va. Beach, and Isabel was the only direct hit-but even at category 1-2, the place was thrashed. Ivan. Oi. One after another this year. All of them very determined. Okay, I must sleep now. I am OLD after all!! Thanks for the welcome backs, and those of you I haven't met or learned your names yet-I will soon-promise. __________________

Wildfire Girl,
I posted the letter to the former and current cast members for them to read. It is common knowledge that most of the TW cast members lurk on there from time to time. Plus, the fans are allowed to read the letter, too. There are so many Third Watch web sites. I will not mention them on here. __________________

CB- Isn't Germany the birth place of Protestantism? The Refirmation, Martin Luther, and all that stuff... Or am I making it up? Yeah, I wasn't baptised. Most people who were born in the 1970's around here weren't.
As for Canada... Gah, we've got everything. Name it, we've got it. Which I think is cool. It reminds me of the one time I saw Monty Python's Life of Brian. I didn't really get it at the time, 'cause not Christian and also not raised on British humour. But it was just weird to be watching it. There we were, me (and my mum's a member of our clergy), my friend Claire (who's mother was the Anglican minister in our town), my friend Matt (son of the Baptist minister), Mike A. (practicing Zen Bhuddist), Mike D. (devout atheist), and April (habitual Protestant)... watching this movie about this born one manger over from Christ's. Jay- I may end up watching Hero at some point. You know my brother's a huge.. I dunno, Asian everything enthusiast. He takes aikido lessons, cultivates bamboo plants, and watches anything that comes out of China and Japan. He's seen it twice already. And my mum's seen it as well. I feel a hostile takeover coming on. Okay, now time for the weird and awkward question. I've been watching the news and I've seen the terrible floods in Sichuan (I'm sure I mispelled that). Now, I'm not positive, but didn't you say your parents speak Chinese (can't remember if it was Mandarin or Cantonese) at home. So, here it goes... Is your family alright? Do you have relatives, loved ones, over there? Because it looks really awful on television. Karine- I've officially told Jay that we ought to all get together and do a thing. Which means, if we follow his lead, maybe some time around the hollidays... I'll try to move things along but he's the kinf of busy that makes me feel lazy. The weird thing is that I told him in the car on the way to my aunt's for the corn on the cob party and my mum was there and she said "well, we could have picked her up! She could have come!" That's my mum for you. Sounds like you had your own plans though, which is very cool, although you indeed might want to be careful with the drinking. Don't mean to sound like the patronizing older cousin, but our family's got a weird relationship with the bottle. Which is one of the reasons I don't drink at all, so perhaps I should just shut up about it and let you live your own life. By the way, quick hint, "Witch" is the woman that flies on a broom. "Which" is what you wanna use when you say "which is totally fair" or "which is why I did this" or "which of these two looks better on me". Sounds totally the same, but spelled differently. Kar- I did work today. And now I'm beat. And yet I have to watch three movies before night ends (and bring them back to the store). But this really cool thing happened today. Alright, so you all know Mark Sweetness. You know how he and I were in Journalism together at school. What you don't know is that we weren't alone in that program (no, you don't say... ). Yes. There were many other people with whom I formed different kinds of relationships. One such person was Chris. Chris is perhaps the only person I've ever met who watches more movies and knows more about movies than I do. And, as you may or may not remember, I've taken classes where we were meant to write movie reviews and the like and then we'd discuss our articles, and so the movies as well, during class. Well you can imagine what ensued between Chris and I. We're both loud mouth people with strong opinions, especially when it comes to movies. It was so much fun. So, before I graduated (he's still got a semester to go), I asked Chris for his e-mail. Come on, I couldn't lose track of the only other person on this planet who loves movies the way I do. And then I promptly lost his e-mail address in the move. Well, what I have conveniently left out of this story is that Chris works at a Blockbuster as well, not mine. So, today, I was working and someone called in for a customer check. So we're talking and, suddenly, I hear "Is this Freddie?". And I go... "Yes..." thinking "Oh no, it's the Assistant-Manager dude who asked me out that one time and I said yes but never called him back because I really meant NOOOOOOO!" But it turned out to be Chris!!!!! This is so cool! Anyway, I have to go. Movies to watch. __________________

Alright, so this is a double post but I figured I wasn't about to waste all the time I had spent penning that other post only to have it be the last of our former thread.
I've watched my movies and, for anybody who's interested, Jersey Girl and The United States of Leland are my favourites this week. Punisher's way too blah and Ladykillers way too weird for me, though that last one has gone some really funny performances. And I have to say that I love walking around Montreal at night right now. The temperature's just right and there's absolutely not a soul alive and there's even crickets chirping. Plenty of scope for the imagination. Kar- I'm not losing his e-mail again, you can bet on that. In fact, I plan on writing him tomorrow. I put in a call to Mark Sweetness tonight so I figure I've filled my friend contact quota for the day. But tomorrow's a brand new day. And, believe me, the dude is a fountain of knowledge when it comes to movies. He can actually do impressions, too, which is a plus. It's not really that scary for me, maybe because I'm so relieved that I'm not the only one. Kimmie- As long as it keeps you coming back here, that's all I care about. How you liking NC, wackiness of moving 12 large rooms into 8 smaller ones aside? __________________

Sunny- Yup, that's Germany. Though that's a long time ago, and now the Catholics are in a majority (outnumbering Protestants 10/1, I'd say). But religion really isn't an issue over here. In fact, the first time I heard about a German having problems because of her religion was a friend of mine (Protestant) who moved to Ireland and fell in love with a Catholic Irish. They moved in together and everything was going fine- until he told her that his family would never accept him to get married to a Protestant. I know this is naive, but until then I always thought that kind of thing only happened, you know, not in Europe.
Hold on to that email address as to dear life, you hear?! I lost a crucial phone number once, I know what it feels like. He knew exactly the movies I liked, we talked 4 hours straight. Or rather yelled at each other on the top of our lungs for four hours straight because we were in a club. He gave me his phone number, I put it in the back pocket of my denims and washed them. And that's all. Who knows what might have happened- I might be in a perfect relationship instead of being a frustrated single with a serious potato crisp addiction! For an addict I am, even though I've managed to cut it down to a minimum. I can tell you, quit smoking after 4 years wasn't half as bad as stopping to eat crisps. Another -topic: my parents announced they pushed back their moving date (to the South of France) another two weeks, which means I won't spend even a single day of my three weeks holiday over there but in boring Germany, packing up my parents house. God- and I turned down an offer to go scuba diving in Egypt for that!! If it weren't for my brother who'll be there for the entire time as well, I'd just pack my things and go, last minute to a place where it's warm. t's just that I get to see my brother only once or twice a year for a weekend, so I'm thrilled to have him around for three weeks straight. I'm still mad, though. __________________

CB So yeah, I guess my whole patience over tolerance thing was kind of...well, not thought out. But I still have a big problem with the word tolerance. Maybe it's because people can abuse it.
Because people 'want' to be 'tolerant; of things they just don't call out some ethical or moral things that people do because they want to be 'seen' as tolerant. That or they just *don't* care. I hate this idea that people should mind their own business. What I'm trying to say is that we should love each other enough to give a darn. And as badly as we Christians sometimes do it, we are doing it out of love...well the majority of us are. There are always the few that give the rest a bad name. I mean, everytime I see a person who believes in God on tv, they are condescending and patronizing. They are looking down on people and judging others. And though I'm sure a lot of people have encountered those 'call me Christian' Christians that really don't know what our faith is based on...just on the principle that their parents were one or whatever, I get irritated. Because that's not who I am. And I hate that the whole of America and Canada, as well as the world, sees us portrayed as that. It makes it a lot harder to speak to people without them already having a preconceived notion about what I believe and who I am. Anyways, I'm not ashamed to say that I tell people about God and that I want them to know that they can have a real relationship with him...that He wants one with him/her. I'm not going to say that it's a bad thing. I want the hope and joy that I have in my life shared with everyone I know. [/schpiel] So yeah, uh...Hero rocks! I love it. Actually I think it is a better movie in comparison to CTHD. I think there was probably more story involved in CTHD in as much as it has more than one character's POV, though there are definitely central characters in the movie; whereas Hero really ever has one POV, until the end, which makes the movie seem to move a little slower. You have to wait for the whole thing to reach it's conclusion before truly understanding what happens. And as much as I think AL's movie was visually stunning. Hero surpasses by far. I think that this movie is so much more about the underlying story being told by the visuals that with words. Not everything is told by the words spoken than by colors and looks and expressions...and even the silence. Kar Yeah you probably wouldn't want to see it. Though it's not your typical martial arts movie. I think if you ever see another 'action' movie (though I hate to call it that) this is what you should see. It's beautiful. And I think you would bawl your eyes out at the end. Sunny because after that post I couldn't possibly call you Brat. You're soooo sweet honey! *has an 'awww' expression pasted on her face* My family speaks Cantonese. And though I do think I have an uncle somewhere in China or maybe it's Hong Kong, no, none of my family has been hurt I don't think. No all of my family lives here in Canada I believe...or at least a majority of them. You are a sweeheart! CB awwww, about the whole not going to 'that place that doesn't really exist' and giving up scuba diving in Egypt. Which is another point of contention between us because I would love for someone to invite me to go to Egypt...as well as scuba diving (though I don't know how to swim - I'd learn...) *glares at CB* __________________

Good morning all! I hope everyone's day as gotten out to a nice start! I learned that there could possibly be a nail in my car tire- the back right one. I'm gonna have to get it changed later on this week.
My mom headed back to work today. Teachers are having last minute meetings and getting their classrooms today. She may be a teacher's aide, but still has to go to work. She finds out where her classroom is. It's weird not having her at home today. I better get used to it. Later today I'm babysitting. Gonna have soo much fun! Katie and I are going to watch CSI- she loves CSI and she's two. Weird kid. Speaking of CSI. My uncle while in Vegas two weeks ago, bought me a CSI hat! I was so thrilled to see it when my sister walked in with it. School starts for the kidlets tomorrow and I return to work as well. Or Thursday, haven't heard back from my supervisor yet. I think I return on Thursday. I don't know if I'll be able to sleep tonight, so anxious! Last night was the first time I went to bed real early. Like two hours earlier than normal. I was up at 3, then at 5:30 then at six and then at 8:30. So I stayed awake. __________________

Jay- Well I'm glad to hear everyone's okay. I wasn't sure because I figured your family (and I mean extended family here) might not have been in Canadan for that many generations.
Regardless of whether your family's involved or not, it does look terrible on TV. People have just been swept away, whole families gone. And Japan's weathering it's third typhoon in as many weeks... Florida's getting ready for it's second hurricane in a row. What the heck is wrong with the world? Well, aside from global warming. But, yeah, I'm very happy to hear everybody's over here and not in harm's way. As for Hero, like I said, I'm getting the definite impression I won't be able to avoid it. I just hope I can escape all the hype surrounding it. I think that's part of why I couldn't stand CTHD. I'd heard from so many people (including Chris, btw) that it was some sort of seminal piece of cinematography and then I watched it and I was like... huh? And this is despite my being quite a big fan of Chow Yun-Fat... or is it Yun-Fat Chow? I checked online because I wanted to get his name right and it's completelly different from what I expected. Gah. Mich- I'm a bit confused. Are you a student or a teacher? Or both? Blame in on the Swiss Cheese memory because I'm fairly certain you've mentionned it. CB- Egypt too? This isn't fair. My options this summer were my appartment or my mum's place back home. The end. No scuba diving in Egypt, no South of France... Though, mind you, I'm not sure I'd go for scuba diving. I'm claustrophobic and I have fear of drowning... So I don't think any form of deep-sea diving is for me. I didn't realise you could do any of it in Egypt though, which goes to show you how much I know. But I so understand what you mean about your brother. I'm besides myself with glee that my brother is staying here two days a week for the rest of the month. When my parents divorced, they got shared custody, so he's the only one i was actually with 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year, you know? In any case.. WOOHOO! This is my day off!!! __________________

Gah, but you all were busy today while I was at work.
Kimmie, you emaile me? Hun, I never heard a thing. Now I am paranoid that my computer is eating emails. I've been sending important stuff via my work email to my boss and he's yet to respond. Gah, I wonder if he isn't getting my emails. I guess I should catch up with him the old fashioned way, but the way I am in class, I rarely see him anymore at all and email is the best way to contact him. Hey sunny, I don't mind at all you carrying that post back over. Robert, oooooooo I had no idea the cast lurked there. And you can mention any sites you want, seriously, it's just not "cool" to post direct links, is all. CB, scuba diving? Egypt? Now I am insanely jealous. Jayta, trust me honey, I hear you on the whole Christian portrayal on TV. Thankfully I live in the "Bible Belt" of the nation, and here believing in God, etc., is totally the norm. Sending a shout out to Nik. Hey Michelle, did I tell you I caught my first partial CSI eppy ever yesterday? A marathon on Spike TV or something, and I watched most of the one about the I-15 Murders. Ok ... I had a wacked day. Guess what I did today at school? :Look: Guess! I bet no one can guess. I caught one of my kid's science fair projects on fire. Seriously. Long story short, they are all working on an idea for a science fair project, and have this folder of paperwork to keep up with, to research on, to compile info, etc. And it is due every Friday. But a kid was abset on Friday and yesterday was a holiday, so he turned it in today. And stuff I get late (even for absenses) I don't like in my traditional homework inbox because I have to grade it seperate from everything else. So instead I like it on my desk. Well, it was such a gorgeous day today that I had the window open and I always have a candle lit. You can probably guess the rest. But the wind blew his folder and paperwork onto the candle during my lecture on homogenous versus heterogenus mixtures, and yeah well, it went up in flames. The kides momentarily freaked, and I grabbed another stack of papers and smothered the fire while the girl nearest my desk was all "water water". But I was thinking, no way are you going to throw water on my desk and ruin everything when simply smothering it serves the same purpose. Needless to say, the fire went out and paper soot flew EVERYWHERE. And people kept stopping by all day asking what I'd burned. Luckily my class has the lab in the back and most people have learned to ignore the smell of burning stuff. But yeah. We all got such a laugh out of my burning my poor kid's project. __________________
