But, if you want to start the new thread, I don't mind.

Anyway, I agree that some celebrity crises or deaths are shocking because we're surprised.

And it's sad, of course, when some dies the way Heath Ledger or Paul Walker did.

They died so young, and leaving children behind.

Still, I didn't know them, you know?

So I move on.

Think I got it.

There You'll Be 09-24-2015 09:22 AM

Yeah, I'm getting over those things much faster now, because I don't take it as personally.

And, I learned from a dear friend coughSunnycough to appreciate the good things they shared and gave us.

Sudden deaths like that always surprise me, and throw me off for a bit.

I used to not deal at all. Just felt bad.

I like that you have the wisdom, and emotional presence of mind, to know it doesn't become a part of your life.

 It was my turn to start a thread, and I only said that in case you thought about starting before I got back.

Thank you for the new thread. Good title!

You know I don't mind starting them, right?

I think it's normal to be shocked and thrown off when a sudden death happens.

Even the not-so-sudden ones can come as quite the shock when they do arrive.

When Ted Kennedy died, I was really sad.

But then, I don't know. You get shocker and thrown off, but you move on.

Because you have a life and these aren't people you knew.

So it's okay to move on to other things, because people we don't know die all the time.

We wouldn't live at all if we spent that much energy being troubled by everyone whose death is shocking.

There You'll Be 09-25-2015 07:51 AM

Yeah, I do know you don't mind.

I just like to help out when I have the opportunity. :)

I'm glad you like the title. It came from a song. Not sure which though.

That's very true about the death of people we don't know.

I've finally been able to watch some movies with actors who have died.

I think Diana's death was the hardest for me. Then JFK Jr. but I think I've told you that.

But I got over both, though I still cry when I see things about it. But I don't cry for long periods any more.

sunnykerr 09-26-2015 09:02 AM

The title is from How Can I Help You Say Goodbye by Patty Loveless.

 Pretty close to what we're talking about, wouldn't you say?

I think it's normal to cry when you see things about people like Diana and JFK Jr dying.

I well up whenever I see footage of Walter Cronkite telling his viewers that JFK has been shot and declared death.

These are moving images.

It's normal to be touched by them.

I just don't think it would be healthy to walk around always feeling sad about it.

That's the difference I see.

There You'll Be 09-26-2015 03:57 PM

Definitely right on to what we we're talking about. :D

Thanks for finding who sang it, and the title. I probably have that song on one of her CD's I have.

That's a huge difference.

Mom's the same way about JFK. :(

I think that's pretty well the point I'm at now.

I cry and maybe feel bad for the rest of the day, but I don't so much carry it with me.

Though I may avoid things they've done for a bit.

Kevin saw Furious 7, and he said it was the worst of the movie's series, and he said he wasted his time watching it.

Sorry, just thought of Paul Walker. :)

sunnykerr 09-27-2015 12:54 PM

 Do you and Kevin have similar tastes in movies?

Because I'm thinking his opinion doesn't mean you wouldn't enjoy it.

Sometimes we just have different reactions to things.

And finding the title of the song wasn't hard.

I just did a Google Search for the title.

I saw a documentary the other day on Ethel Kennedy (the widow of RFK) that her daughter did.

It was reall moving, too.

But, yeah, we're human, so it's normal to be moved.

We just have to take care of ourselves and make sure we don't stay moved too long, because that starts to be harmful to our own health.

There You'll Be 09-28-2015 12:35 PM

When it comes to Fast & Furious movies we like the same things.

It was too actiony/unbelievable to me in the movie ads for Furious 7.

Diving out of planes in cars, with parachutes, and landing and getting away.

Not my cup of tea at all.

You're right, it is natural to be moved.

Especially with real life and meaningful things like that.

sunnykerr 09-28-2015 05:55 PM

 Then I suppose you won't be impressed with Furious 7. :)

Too bad. I was hoping you'd like it, for your sake, you know?

Oh well, it's not like it's mandatory viewership or anything.

It's totally normal to be moved by real life, I completely agree.

At the same time, it's normal to be moved by fake life too, isn't it?

Like, fictional stuff is moving too, even though it's not real.

I think it's good that we get moved by stuff.

It proves we're not dead inside or something. :)

There You'll Be 09-29-2015 04:39 AM

Well, I'm still thinking about watching it on Directv showing. It's only like $4 or 5$ and the comfort of home is always a great thing.

I so beyond words agree Sunny. Fiction moves us, too.

And it does make us human, and alive inside.

I think the best written fiction, and movies, are meant to touch that place inside us.

And moving on is human as well.

sunnykerr 09-29-2015 05:37 PM

If you want to see it so much that you're willing to spend money (even though it's not much), then you probably should.

Otherwise, I don't see the harm in waiting for it to come out on TV or something.

It can't be that long, right?

There You'll Be 09-30-2015 08:13 AM

Well, it may come on a movie channel we don't get for months.

I am probably going to do pay per view to see it.

It'll be about 6 month I'd guess until it's on a public channel.

sunnykerr 09-30-2015 03:25 PM

That give you room to wiggle, though.

You can see if you can wait the six months or not.

You can decide for yourself. :)

There You'll Be 10-02-2015 03:38 PM

True. I may wait.

It seems way too actiony for me.

And, the first ones were action oriented enough for me.

sunnykerr 10-03-2015 09:22 AM

And, hey, if ever you just can't wait, you can always pay to watch it then. :)
