Christina comes to India

In a ballroom at Mumbai's Intercontinental Grand Hotel, camerapersons sat like members of a not-very-covert group of assassins.

They removed equipment from their bags, swung their machines on to tripods, aligned them precisely with expected positions for their eventual target, and mechanically swung on different lens attachments, all in meticulous preparation to get the perfect shot.

Then Christina Aguilera walked in.

And a stampede began.

Aguilera is in India for a few days, and is visiting Amby Valley, near Mumbai.
She is in the middle of work on her new album, and is, as expected, excitedly gushing about India and the 'mysticism' and 'spirituality' she believes it will give her.

She also dutifully appreciates and acknowledges the country's diverse musical influences.

Aguilera seems to be going through an image makeover, as the miniscule pop tart now appears completely different from the bronzed, Dirrrty look she had been sporting.

The media has famously detailed how Christina has removed her more infamous tattoos.

As she posed for the cameras, she looked like a Marilyn Monroe wannabe.

A heavily made-up face, complete with long false eyelashes and the Monroe replication -- down to the obvious-yet all-important mole -- made for a dazzling picture in pink.

Aguilera looked equipped to act in another LA Confidential. As she briefly smiled and spoke to the press, the enthusiasm in her voice was palpable.

She is travelling in India with her boyfriend, and her bodyguard.

Let's hope she finds the spirituality she seeks.

Not to mention the individuality she needs.

She's working on her new album already!!! Maybe my dream will become reality! I'm so excited! We'll probably get a new album next year!! It's like a new album every 3 years, with the exception of the Spanish and Christmas releases.

Christina In India For Inspiration

Pop diva Christina Aguilera, currently visiting India, is on a spiritual trip and reportedly seeking inspiration for her next album.

At a brief appearance before the media on Wednesday at Mumbai's Intercontinental Sahara, Aguilera said: "I'm very glad to come to India. It is a beautiful country and I'm enjoying every bit of it." For Aguilera this is her first trip to India.

The pop diva declined to give interviews. However, she conceded a few minutes to eager photographers to shoot her pictures and take her video.

Dressed in tantalising pink, the diva was escorted by her own personal security guard as well as guards provided by the organisers.

After the media appearance, Aguilera headed to town to Big Bazaar for some shopping and left for Amby Valley in Pune in a private chopper. She is here on a special invitation by Percept and Sahara.

Unconfirmed reports say she might be planning to incorporate Indian music in her next album or even collaborate with some well known classical musicians of India at Amby Valley.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that Sahara may rope her in for a guest appearance or a dance number in one of its Bollywood films.

Christina tried to keep her boy friend John Bartman away from media glare. He even tried to hide his face when photographers tried to shoot him while he escorted Christina to her room Wednesday.

Aguilera will be spending three days in Amby Valley.

They/he did a collabo with Jay-Z. I think the song was called Beware Of The Boys. That song's being played in clubs here and I think it's Indian. Not sure tho..

PMC = Punjabi MC. He's best known in mainstream music for his collaboration with Jay-Z on "Beware of the Boys", also known as "Mundiya To Bach Ke Raih" (in Punjabi). "Mundiya To Bach Ke Raih" is a relatively old Punjabi song, the genre of PMC's music is called Bhangra, which consists of drum beats. A lot of artists have been incorporating indian vibes into thier music, which has resulted in some really good sounds. Music starts evolving when you mix different influences and genres and make your own sound original. I think it would be interesting to see Christina collaborate with PMC!
