Tommy Wiseau's "The Room"

Hello! :D
As part of a University assessment, I am required to start a discussion online about a specific fandom. One that I find to be particularly interesting is the following of the 2003 cult film, The Room, seeing as fans applaud the film on being just plain awful.

Therefore I'll start this discussion by asking if anyone who has seen the film, are fans of it for any other reason, other than it being a poorly produced film?

I went to a screening of this movie last year and met Tommy. I hate this movie so much, but it's fun to hate it together.

Thanks for responding! Despite the film being bad, do you still find yourself enjoying it, and would it be something you'd consider watching over and over?

God no. It's terrible and Tommy, I consider, to be purely talentless. The only reason I saw it in theaters was because my friend was owed a favor by me.

Did the theatre you saw it at allow audience interaction? For example, when I went to a screening, the audience threw plastic spoons every time the random photos of spoons were in shot, also calling out and joining in on well known quotes etc. Because I find that this kind of interaction of the "fans" helps contribute to the enjoyment of the film. Obviously, the film is bad, but that is the reason we, as an audience, enjoy mocking it so much.

oh yeah, the fans treated it like the Rocky Horror Picture Show throwing crap at the screen. That's, to me, the only reason people do it so they can collectively group hate it. It makes Tommy money, too, lol. The guy's a cool dude just the movie gets more attention that deserved.
