I'm really crossing my fingers that MOS will be very good too in order to bring a new era for Superman in the movies. A new and fresh franchise of Superman that's not related/continuation or an homage to the 1970's -1980's Superman will do the trick hopefully.

And for Comic Con, I hope the important cast like Henry Cavill,Amy Adams will be there.

Are you saying that if it's ''good'' then the cast & director will stay similar for there to be more Superman films in the next few years?

I think that's what she means. IF MOS will be very successful, WB will definitely green light for sequels. It's obvious that WB is very much hoping on Man on Steel as the next blockbuster franchise especially when the Harry Potter series of movies are over and Chris Nolan's Batman series will officially end a few weeks from now.

for this film to succeed, i just hope it has a good story and doesn't rely on needing to continue what the past films have done. it needs to go in a different direction. hopefully, with goyer's writing, nolan's support and snyder's direction, this film can return to being a successful franchise once again.

since i really don't know much about this reboot beyond development stages and some casting news, i truly hope this turn doesn't keep clark/superman on that farm. i've seen enough with that on smallville (even though i loved it). we need to see him more in metropolis and being superman a little more.

if wb is smart, we can get a teaser trailer or something with the dark knight rises. why not start the promotion months in advance? possibly, if good word comes out of comic con, things will pick up.

Yes, but Batman will be ''rebooting'' likely within 5 years from this time.

I totally agree with you. Snyder and Nolan has been saying that MOS is a total reboot and NOT related to the Christopher Reeve movies at all.

It has been rumored that the teaser trailer is going to be attached itself to the Dark Knight Rises. And there are reports that in Comic Con, MOS will show footage/s of the movie. I guess after TDKR, MOS will finally start promotion a year before its release.

Well aside from Smallville, Clark is presumably base on many set pictures, is traveling around the world like that Clark Kent /Superman of Superman: Birthright. It has been said that MOS has got many inspirations on that graphic comic novel(Superman: Birthright). Of course,Cavill has been spotted together with Adams shooting in Chicago (Metropolis in MOS) as Clark Kent and Superman. there are also spy pictures of Cavill as Superman fighting the villains of the story in Metropolis.

Like seriously. It's about time that the superhero that started it all will make hopefully a great comeback next year-- Superman the king of superheroes.
And Man of Steel as a fresh modern, reinvention of the beloved superhero, I'm crossing my fingers that he will. This is a modern Superman/Clark Kent that fits the sensibilities of today but still mainting his core characteristics/values on what makes him... Superman..

and I detected the Superman: Birthright influences too in MOS. Heck,Cavill looks as if he is patterned with the Birthright Superman.

yeah, i've heard about the rumors too about a teaser trailer. i hope it's actually true. guess we'll have to wait and see. also thanks for the extra info about filming. it's been awhile since superman has been in action so, that would be great to see. overall, i just hope for a good and solid story.

That would be impressive if it was related to films that first were made over 30 years ago. Do you think ''Man of Steel'' will be relatd to ''Superman Returns'' somehow?

Man of Steel is a complete reboot-- it means a total and separate movie universe in terms of direction, style and characterization. It will not be related with Superman Returns which was a semi sequel and remake of Superman II of Christopher Reeve. I'm glad that MOS will stand on its own and not be influenced and not be a continuation with the Donner/Chris Reeve movies like Superman: Returns. Chris Reeve's Superman version is unforgettable and beloved but this century needs a fresh interpretation of Superman that is more modern but still maintaining his core values on what the Kents taught him to be..
