Sherlock Holmes Series #1

Hey everyone! I noticed Sherlock didn't have a thread of it's own and I'm hoping by starting one that new fans who have just seen the film or will see it in the next few weeks will congregate here. I'm madly in love with it and would love to have a thread to post about it on. I hope it has enough fans on here to keep it going!

To start off how about we do a little questionnaire?

Name: Air
Age: 20
Where from?: Philly, Boston for school.
Why did you go to see SH?: For Robert Downey Jr. and for director Guy Ritchie.
What were you pleasantly surprised by in the film?: Jude Law! And the Holmes/Watson dynamic. It made the entire movie for me.
What did you not like about it?: Rachel McAdams. I thought she was so unconvincing as an international criminal. She couldn't hold her own.

And I leave you all with one of my favorite scenes!:

 I'm Nikki.

I hope I can catch this in theaters! It looks fun and I love Robert Downey Jr in just about anything.

i so badly want to see this, but i have to wait until me friend gets backs from her mission camp, so we can see it together.

thanks for posting guys! It seems that not a lot of people on FF are talking about it, or perhaps they just haven't seen it yet. I know I am planning to see it again with my friend when she gets back from vacation. I hope it attracts more of a following, it certainly seems like it should - what with the action/comedy angle, RDJ and RDJ/Jude Law.

I haven't seen it yet but I love Sherlock Holmes.

I love RDJ,JL and RM so I can not wait to see it

Air 12-30-2009 01:38 PM

I highly recommend it as a must see! I'm going to see it again after new years so I can catch all the tiny details in RDJ and LJ's acting.

LittleMilkJug 12-30-2009 02:25 PM

I saw it yesterday and absolutely loved it. RDJ and JL have great chemistry and the story was interesting. I'd even go so far to say that it's my second favorite film of the year, after Up :D Two hours of fun....and a dog ;)

Air 12-30-2009 03:06 PM

So far it's my second favorite too! Behind Inglorious Basterds.

I love that RDJ got a Golden Globe nom for it!

Name: Lena
Why did you go to see SH?: For Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law, and because it looked awesome
What were you pleasantly surprised by in the film?: Nothing really, b/c I was expecting it to be really good. I'm a huge fan of RDJ's acting, and I knew the bromance would be great, because I just love bromances
What did you not like about it?: Rachel McAdams. I thought she was so unconvincing as an international criminal. She couldn't hold her own. < not my response but ITA. she was horrendous. And I normally like her. I also thought the character was poorly written, but a good actress could've made me like her. Everything she said sounded so forced

In conclusion loooved it, seen it twice already, RDJ owns as normal (his talent astounds me), bromance owns, just needed RM to GTFO my screen

i went and saw it loved, will be seeing it again and again and again

RDJ is now my new obsession it time to kick Johnny Depp to the kerb. just kidding

BTW what are RDJ fans called?, cos I heard someone in the cinema say there called DOWNERS :lmao:

I am on a kick ALL things RDj right now. I just watched Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and am searching youtube for any and everything RDJ. He just fascinates me!

I do think it's good enough to see twice, I want to catch all the details I missed the first time around.

May I recomend him in Chaplin and Home for the Holidays. Two of his earlier movies that he's just wonderful in and are great movies to begin with.

I'll add them to my Netflix. Thanks for the recommendations! I've seen part of Short Cuts and I've seen him in Gothika, Zodiac, Good Night and Good Luck - but all before I really knew about him. So I might revisit.

PermanentCatcher 01-05-2010 02:10 PM

 I've also become totally obsessed with RDJ. he's just so damn talented!
