I'm going to bed in a sec - I've had a crazy busy few days/week! - but I have to say, my favourite line is when Kaylee and Jayne are tidying up the cargo bay after their run in with the Reavers, and they're talking about where Reavers come from. Apart from that I love Jayne's "I'd kill a man in a fair fight. Or if I thought he was gonna start a fair fight. Or if there was a woman. Or if I was getting paid. Mostly just if I were getting paid...", my absolute favourite line in the whole movie, just because it's SO Kaylee, is "Shepherd Book says they're men reached the edge of space, saw vasty nothingness, and went bibbeldy over it."

Bibbeldy! Best word ever!!

Hi everyone. I saw a preview of the film last Wednesday in Australia. I loved it. I'm a new convert to Serenity. I started watching the dvds only a few months ago and after that I've been hooked. I'm glad they resolved Simon and Kaylee's relationship.
So sad about Wash, completely shocked me. Didn't see it coming at all.
I dying to see the film again.

I can't wait to see it again either, and that'll be my fifth time! This is one movie that's *completely* rewatchable!!

Also, Jenn, I've gotta say, there are so many parts I loved. These are a few, and not at all in order... I loved Simon and Kaylee's talk; "You mean to say ... sex?" "I mean to say." "Hell with this, I'm gonna live!"

Kaylee's "battery operated" line and Mal's "I can't hear this!" Jayne: "I could stand to hear a little more."

River kicking ass. I love when the blast doors open and she's just standing there with the axes.

Simon and River's scene when Simon gets shot. That he gets shot at all, and THERE, is upping the stakes, but their scene, and then her "My turn!"...awesome.

"Dear Buddha, I would like a pony and a plastic rocket." Most of that scene, actually. "I'm impressed that you made it this far ... in that outfit."

The whole "Yes, I've read a poem, don't faint!" and Inara's "Please, spend an hour with him!" when the Operative says "You can't make me angry." I love Mal's cleverness that he's pulled off the pulse beacon and sent out seven nav sat trajectories. Inara's "that's not incense." *sigh* I also love her wave...I love when Nathan does "waking up" scenes. And of course the shirtlessness is *great* The fact that they were all watching is so funny, too. Ahhh I love this movie.

I also love Jewel's hand movement when she's giving Simon advice for finding a new ship and says "Don't get in anything with a Canistan 45 engine, they fall right out of the sky."

I'm sure I'll think of more! I started this post intending to mention one scene and all of that came out!

Rach: You saying all those things are bringing it back to me. I couldn't name them off the top of my head. It feels like forever since I've seen it and its only been a little over 2 months. But I can't complain for already seeing it. But I'm just as eager to see it again..

I keep remembering more! Morena said that her favourite part changes every time she sees it, but when she watched it at the premiere, her fave line was when Mal got down into Mr Universe's chamber thingy, surveyed where he had to go and then goes "Hard to get to?!" Hee.

I think one of the things I will never forget about the screening I went to is when Wash dies. For like 5 minutes after that this lady in front of my is crying hysterically. I had never heard anyone cry like that for a movie. I felt really bad for her. At that point I was numb though.

Yeah, the first time I saw it, I didn't really remember *much* of what came after 'cause I was spending the time going "But they're going to go back and get him and he's FINE, right? RIGHT?!"

I really thought once Wash was gone, anyone could go. And then Kaylee got hurt, and then Simon got shot, and ... GAAAH!!



I loved the feeling I had then, of not knowing, though. I wish I could go back to being unspoiled for that EVERY time I saw it. Although like I said, now I get to concentrate on what comes after!

I think even when I see it again his death will still be as shocking to me. Just because it was SO sudden. But you are right that it totally works for the movie. After that as a viewer you are afraid for everyone's life. And since so many of the others get injured it is that much more intense. Especially when Simon is shot.


Its true that after the first time you see it Wash's death really has an effect on the rest of the movie and then how you feel afterwards. But then that feeling goes away and you remember the good of it all. I was totally numb the rest of the night after watching. Kept thinking "but.. but.. he can't really be dead??".

Oh yeah, it's definitely still shocking. But it's kind of a "Gahh, its going to happen soon!!" kind of shock, rather than the "WOW I wasn't expecting THAT HOLY CRAP!!" kind of shock!

I love listening to the audience's reaction when Wash dies, and when Simon gets shot. Without fail, there's laughter that turns into gasps with Wash's death. I can never laugh at the "leaf on the wind" line any more, 'cause I know whats coming up!

I don't cry when Wash dies, though. I cry at the memorial scene. And actually, I tear up the most when Mal's all "Report? River?" and they're looking sad and the blast doors open and she's standing there. Its weird, but thats what really makes me cry! Then the funeral scene just sets me off over again!

The new serenitymovie.com site has a bunch of shiny stuff ... but there are a lot of soundbites from the movie there. I know they don't mean the same taken out of context, but I'm a little disappointed that they're sharing some of the best lines - beyond the ones already in the trailer!

I was shocked with Wash's death as well. I was just waiting for someone to go back to get him because I was in complete denial that he was dead. I think that it didn't really sink in for me until the funeral scene.

The scene where Zoe and Mal come out and someone (Kaylee?) says "Where's Wash" and their reply was that he's not coming. That part was what got to me.

I totally agree, Jenn ... mostly because when Kaylee cries? I cry. Jewel is so damn good at that stuff! When she finds the little boy's body, it breaks my heart! And the look on her face when Zoe says "he's not coming" without even looking away from her gun. Gah! And obviously the funeral scene...
