Re-watched this last weekend for the millionth time :thumbs_up:


I would go on record and say this is Leo's best movie next to Inception.

I agree that I like Leo in this more than Titanic as well. I thought the scene where he killed Tibelt to avenge Mercutio was so intense and well done. I always loved the song "Kissing You," in this film too.

That's the scene I was thinking of :nod: "EITHER THOU, OR I, OR BOTH MUST GO WITH HIM!!!" -- He put so much energy into that moment :thud:


Also, his scenes with Harold Perrineau were fantastic. Perrineau carried the movie as Mercutio :clap:

I agree that Leo did such great acting in that moment, he was screaming with rage as he had tears in his eyes as he shot Tibult up. I also agree that the guy that played Mercutio carried the film, I think he was my favorite character in the whole movie closely followed by Romeo. I also love that they remade Prince's "When Doves Cry" in the film. I love me some Prince so that was an added bonus as well.

The GIF is such a powerful point in the film. Great choice! :)

I agree too Butterfly, such poignant scenes! So underrated.

He looks so vulnerable and scared in that moment. :cry: I love how Baz Lurhmann keeps the camera on his face for such a long time in the moments after he kills Tybalt. It really depicts how he made a rash decision based on grief and now Romeo's realizing that it will stay with him forever.

I love the soundtrack :nod: There's such a variety of songs :love: Ballads, pop, choir... A really great mix. Baz Luhrmann has a great eye for vision AND a great sense for sound.

I love the opening montage where it introduces all of the character names and kind of summarizes the entire romantic tragedy :sigh:
