The Prestige (2006) #1

No thread about this. This movie looks like it's going to be awesome.

Ooh - what a cast! Thanks so much for the thread!

It's clearly still in post production but I'll look forward to seeing it. :)

Meh, Robert Angier. Jackman's character's been turned American and Johansson's British. Weird. :look:

Anyway, the novel, Christian Bale, and Chris Nolan are favorites of mine in their respective categories, so I'm obviously excited. A little more than two months to go. :D

LOL, you know I'd be here. ;) Can't wait to see the movie!

Honestly, and Michael Caine cast as the father figure type character, which he totally nailed in Batman Begins. Excellent.

 Hellooooo Shannon, my fellow Balehead. :D

Michael Caine can nail practically anything.

I must admit it's gonna be weird seeing Caine's Cutter as a father-figure to Jackman's Angier. I'm so used to Batman Begins.

Scarlett Johansson meh. I haven't seen any of her movies, but according to my friends, she's not that great. :look: All I know is her British accent is pretty bad.

I'm looking forward to seeing how this turns out!! Saw a trailer for it a little while ago and it looks really good, plus Nolan is behind it and he never disappoints me!

I'm excited for this!!!

And Bale is looking fantastic. :D

Michael Caine can nail ME! The man is one of the greats. (OK that was inappropriate, I'm sorry  )

Scarlett Johansson is good in some movies - I liked her in The Island and Lost in Translation, but I agree, not buying the British accent. They could've picked a different actress. :look:

Or picked to leave Olivia American, as she was in the book. :P

Can't wait for this movie. :). Nolan has definitley become one of my favourite directors. Love Bale...not so sure about Jackman...but hey, this being a Nolan film, I think it'll be the movie itself that shines and not just an individual.

jthorton17 08-30-2006 08:57 AM

Nolan has such an amazing style with which he shoots his films. I haven't read it but apparently the book is really good. I'm very interested to see how Nolan is going to make this look on film. Good, no doubt :)

*Shannon* 08-30-2006 10:28 AM

Ooh, I'd love to read the book, I'll pick it up next time I'm at the library. :)

Enigma 08-30-2006 07:24 PM

I didn't know it was a book either. Who's the author?
