I love how the writer slowly builds the tension in the first half of the movie and gets you realizing that these two are eerily similar by having them compete in ways that show they are equals in spite of their differences.

The chemistry between Dennis and Natasha was insanely good, and that's impressive given their limited screen time together.

It's one of those movies that people who haven't seen it are like 'oh I bet that's for kids' but you need to give it a chance and see how there's something in it for all age groups to relate to

Dennis and Natasha play a big part in how well it aged. They gave strong portrayals of a separated couple who try to hide their years of suffering without each other by fueling their heads into work. Nick puts on a facade of moving on with another woman; Elizabeth devotes her time to being the person who future brides can depend on.

Their reunion in the movie didn't feel forced at all. I always loved their scene in the wine cellar because the writers could have just had them kiss but nope, she pulls away a) out of fear and b) because she thinks he could still be hung-up on someone else. It's mature writing.

Their expressions in the 2nd one I'm with them - I hated Meredith. She was a gold-digging nightmare potential step-mother. I'm glad he saw sense before it was too late

I definitely think they modeled her from that character. She even had the evil streak of threatening to ship them off to Switzerland so she could have their father [+ his money] all to herself

I love that Annie is her favorite. I see her point that Hallie was too relatable to her real lifestyle. Also, I think Annie was instantly my favorite because she was treated like a fish out of water at the camp and was basically bullied for being posh. She had the tougher journey in a way.

I loved the vineyard scenes, Dennis Quaid played such a likeable dad
