Thanks for the new thread
|
^^ Allison to answer your question from the previous thread, I watched Gilmore Girls on and off. Did not see season 1 all the way through, and only started finding the show interesting when Milo came on ;)
And thanks for your understanding in our PMs  lucky to have a co-mod as kind as you Have you seen the Harry Potter reunion trailer? What do you think of JK Rowling's absence? I'll probably say more in the thread later |
that’s understandable
Milo is a big draw for viewers I know they there’s been controversy with her lately but she wasn’t actually in the movies themselves so I see it as acceptable |
GG did not work for me without Milo. I'll never understand people who didn't like Jess. He was Rory's soulmate, and I had to switch off when they introduced Logan
I can't help but feel sorry for Rowling, thinking back to the Deathly Hallows premiere and how the younger cast welcomed her there and spoke about her like she was a second mother. I don't know, the divided loyalties thing feels very awkward about this :good_bad: and I say that as someone who never cared for her in the past. |
I can understand people disliking him in his early episodes but like definitely by season 6 (yeah no way)
haven’t really looked too much into it but yeah I was disappointed recently at finding out that an author who wrote a book series I was obsessed with as a kid made some offensive remarks about women I felt more strongly about that than this tbh |
I'm gonna be the annoying 'I try to separate art from reality' person
Not sure if that makes me a terrible person or not but I still think Rowling, having had so much input to the series in the past, deserved better here. But yes I understand your POV  |
oh I was actually talking about another author but yeah I definitely still enjoy Harry Potter
|
Oh right , man we are living in a tough era. Everyone wondering if certain books should be cancelled due to author's private lives.
I mean... Fiction is fiction. Whatever is in this books, we have the authors to thank for it. So if they're not-so-great in other areas, well that's a damn shame because HP is reflective of her better qualities I think. On another note... I started watching 'Emily in Paris' today on Netflix. Surprisingly liked it |
I heard about that show but have never checked it out
currently busy getting through 6 different 90s-early/mid 2000s older series rn though and am excited for 2 streaming shows to be coming back soon with new seasons |
Lily Collins is good in it thankfully. It would probably be TERRIBLE otherwise.
Lots of cliche lines about French men being obsessed with sex and whatnot :eyebrow: |
I’ve liked her in 2 movies I’ve seen her in but that’s pretty much everything
oh the book series that I was talking about earlier by the way was A Series of Unfortunate Events I’m just disappointed because the author seemed like a cool guy and I actually went to the same high school as him there was kind of like a hall of fame area in the school library with his books when I attended |
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone that celebrates.
|
Merry Christmas everyone!
|
finished watching season 1 of Party of Five for the first time earlier and I can definitely say Matthew has better romantic chemistry with the actress who plays Kirsten than Evi on Lost
for the record I do also like/think Matthew has good romantic chemistry with Elizabeth on Lost really thought it was a solid season with great acting from most of the cast was definitely impressed with the acting from Scott, Neve, and Lacey (her talent when she was so young - wow) I liked how this season dealt with dealing with the loss of their parents and the sibling dynamics felt very genuine to me really loved Bailey/Charlie’s relationship the most I think even though it’s complicated |
