Good picks everyone. Here are mine:
BEST MOVIE King Kong (Universal Pictures)- I really enjoyed all the characters and the storyline itself, and the effects were good and how they made King Kong himself. BEST PERFORMANCE Joaquin Phoenix - Walk the Line (20th Century Fox)- This was a hard pick since I thought alot of them did a great act but Joaquin really did well as Johnny Cash with the singing. BEST COMEDIC PERFORMANCE * Steve Carell - The 40-Year-Old Virgin (Universal Pictures)- He had me cracking up in most of the film. I love him. BEST ON-SCREEN TEAM Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson & Rupert Grint - Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Warner Bros. Pictures)- I think all three of them are great together in the films. BEST VILLAIN Tobin Bell - Saw II (Lions Gate Films)- He was a very smart villian, and a creepy guy at that. BREAKTHROUGH PERFORMANCE Jennifer Carpenter - The Exorcism of Emily Rose (Screen Gems)- She did really well with the acting. BEST HERO Christian Bale - Batman Begins (Warner Bros. Pictures) Ewan McGregor - Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith (20th Century Fox) _ I just couldnt choose between these two. I think they both were great heros in the movies and hot. SEXIEST PERFORMANCE Rob Schneider - Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo (Sony Pictures)- I only picked him because this was the only movie I saw from the others. He was funny in it (dont know about sexy though, lol) BEST FIGHT Ewan McGregor vs. Hayden Christensen - Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith (20th Century Fox)- It was one hell of a fight, and sad at the same time. BEST KISS Jake Gyllenhaal & Heath Ledger - Brokeback Mountain (Focus Features)- It was just hot. Plain and simple. BEST FRIGHTENED PERFORMANCE Jennifer Carpenter - The Exorcism of Emily Rose (Screen Gems)- Again she did good with the acting in the movie. STUDENT FILMMAKER AWARD- I didnt see any of the films to judge if I liked it or not. |

I watched 10 seconds and Jessica Alba's little King Kong skit was horrible! Not the skit, she was! She's not funny at all. Plus, Christina Aguilera's performance was underwhelming.
That's all I saw. I got home late. I'll catch the re run later. __________________

The show was by far one of the worst MTV has done in recent years in my opinion. Most of the jokes were completely inappropriate and trying to cater to 13-year old boys and their sensibilities who were no doubt tuning in to oogle Jessica alba
I am all for off-the-wall humor, but most of the jokes were just crude, not funny and very forced. But the good news is this show confirmed one thing for me: Jessica Alba is all looks and nothing else. The show also confirmed for me most of the movies out last year save for a very select few were mindless drivel that is best forgotten, I.E. King Kong and similar movies. Some of these nominees in certain categoreis were basically there because there wasn't that much to choose from and MTV had to fill out at least five choices due to slim pickings. Also, I cannot believe they edited the final acceptance speech for Movie of the Year. You're telling me that an awards show that runs over three hours has to edit a three to four minute speech to save time? Get real. In addition, since MTV now caters to mostly teen girls, you can pretty much tell what is going to win by how hot the male actors are, aka Brokeback Mountain, and if the female role has an ugly-duckling underdog in it like Jennifer Carptner for Possession of Emily Rose. However, what surprised me was Christian Bale's acceptance speech. It was almost if he had won an Academy Award and was genuinely heartfelt... Yet seemed oddly out of place given the more lax and whacky tone of the show. Definitely the most out-of-place moment of the evening in my opinion. In closing, I know I am way out of the target demographic for MTV and this show, but they've got to get better because the show itself was just not entertaining as a show which is the most important part of all. |

UM once again, you are right on!! Like I said, I watched only a blip but it was bad enough. Awww, Christian Bale is a blessing to have because so many actors are so tabloid driven that they forget that acting is also a job, not just some "on the side" activity for when nobodys talking about the last party you went to.
Jessica Alba.... Ugh... I won't even start with her. Anyway, I gotta catch Bale's acceptance speech if it was that cute and heart felt! __________________

Yeah, the show seems to get progressively worse each year. Either that, or I'm just not the target demographic anymore. Luckily, Alba is pretty enough that when she starts talking, it's just gibberish to me. Steve Carell had a good speech, probably the highlight along with Christian Bale's award (but yeah, definitely felt out of place).
