Muppets rule!!!!
I have "It's a very merry Muppet Christmas movie" on DVD, it's not as good as the other Muppet movies, but it's ok. I'm still hoping Michelle will lend me her Muppet movies somewhere in the future...*hint hint*
I like animal, Kermie, Gonzo and Fuzzy Bear is soooo cute. Those two old guys are also superb.
Nice thread Mich.

I grew up with the original Muppets when they were on TV (mid '70s) all the way up until now and followed their various movies and incarnations (aka TV Specials).

I think the quintessential Muppet Movie is Muppets Take Manhattan as that was supposed to be THE last official muppet movie and the fact that Jim Henson (Muppet creator) died shortly after (in the '80s) kind of solidifies that point of view in my mind.

I think his son, Brian, has done a great job with the franchise, but he can never live up to his father's reputation -- Especially, in terms of being the voice of Kermit the Frog himself. Brian just doesn't "sound right" as much as he tries... But then again, I grew up with Jim, so what else do you expect me to say?

What's funny is that the Muppets have now gone in a totally new direction with Comedy Central's "Crank Yankers" which I never would have thought in a million years they'd be doing crude (but funny) bathroom type humor, but times change... Sometimes not for the better

I love the Muppets! They're one of my all time favorite things ever.

My favorite movies are the Muppet Movie and Muppet Christmas Carol.

I so wish they'd bring back the TV show. I've been tempted to buy the collection with the old shows, but there seem to be several and I don't have that much money.

"You hired this crew?"
"No, Mr Bimbol did."
"Who's Mr Bimbol?"
"The man who lives inside my finger!"

Fozzie rocks my world. He is the best muppet! I love him! And I also love those old men who pay them out, that sit up in that thing, I forget their names. I used to love the song to the Muppet Babies. God, that was a while back! Wish I could get them on DVD, does anyone know if the Babies are on DVD?

I agree about the voice of Kermit.

I loved The Muppets Take Manhattan & used to watch it all the time. I don't have the dvd though. I haven't seen it anywhere. But I am not ashamed to admit that if I had it I would probably watch it all the time.

Anyone remember The Jim Henson show that came on tv years ago? I have old episodes on tape somewhere... the one I especially remember is The Man Who Cheated Death. I remember thinking it was neat but creepy at the same time. He didn't want to die, but then finally he got sick of living but he still couldn't die...

Those 2 old guys are called Waldorf and Statler.
Right now I'm checking out www.Henson.com and I seem to be downloading Muppet babies. So for who's interested, go check it out.

I also used to love the Fraggles and those 3 giants, appearantly they're Henson material as well.

Hey hey,

Everybody... thank you for posting !! I am so happy !! I would even sing a muppet-song as a tribute to all of you, but well... Singing is not my best quality...
But I don't have old muppet dvd's (like the muppet movie) b/c it seems to me that nothing is available here...
I have seen a little part of the Muppet babies in The Muppets Take Manhattan and I want more of the Muppet babies stuff and more old muppet movie... Where can I find them?
