Sport Films #1
Does anyone have any movies they really liked that had sports involved in it?
Mine are: Love and Basketball- I love the whole relationship between the two main characters. Its a really cute love twist. Mighty Ducks- It's so funny to watch and the actors who play in the movie are great. Bad News Bears Also a great comedy A League of Their Own I love Tom Hawks as the coach and it has alot of great actresses in it. and least but not less Radio- Cuba Gooding Jr was amazing in the movie. __________________

My favorite, hands down, is Bull Durham - it gave me my current passion for baseball and I'll be forever grateful. Other sports films...I'm not so interested, really. They tend to be the same. Oh, wait, I take that back - I really liked The Air Up There (even though I don't like Kevin Bacon) and Lagaan (yes, it's a Hindi film which one for best foreign film, but it's all about the game of cricket and the last hour and fifteen minutes is a cricket game). So then I'd also have to add Bend it like Beckham as a favorite movie about football/soccer. Hmm...and I can't forget Breaking Away - a classic! If I think of more I'll be back. |

Remember the Titans: I can never grow tired of this movie...ever.
Miracle: See above. The Sandlot: The words "classic" and "unbelievably entertaining" come to mind... Rookie of the Year: Again, see above I'll probably have more later as well. |

The Replacements is my favorite sports related movie. I loved Keanu and Orlando in this movie. I also thought their verison of I Will Survive during the jail scene was hilarous.

actually i was kidding....but usually when i'm asked what my favorite horror film is my standard answer is 'the waterboy'..... here's one of my favorites.....'dogtown and z-boys'....a documentary about the 1970's zephyr skating team....a film not so much about skateboarding (the beginnings of "extreme" sports) but a way of life....a way of life that continues, to this day, here in southern california, throughout other parts of this country and alot of other countries besides this one.......... |

I'll have to say Bend it Like Beckham and The Replacements. Both were funny and included the sports I like. Oh, I shouldn't forget Lagaan. It's an Indian film that deals with the sport Cricket, which is one of my favorite sports to watch.

Lagaan - My favourite sports movie, ever. I watched it in Uni with my media class and we were so enthralled in it, it was so gripping and intense. One of my favourite films of all time.
A League Of Their Own - Love this film, has some incredible perfomances and the ending always makes me cry. Especially with Madonnas song playing. Bend It Like Beckham - A great film about football, hilarious as well. __________________

Pretty much the only sports movie I've ever liked is Bend It Like Beckham. I liked that a lot. I also like Seabiscuit, if thats considered a sports movie.
