Loved Keira with Rupert Friend. They actually starred as Elizabeth Bennett and Mr Wickham (Pride and Prejudice) just before getting together in real life!

No joke - people mistook Rupert for Orlando Bloom in his early days of dating Keira, particularly those who fantasized Will and Elizabeth from Pirates of the Caribbean hooking up for real.

Reminder of how clear Keria made it in 'POTC: Dead Man's Chest' that she loved doing these intimate scenes with Johnny -

I still maintain that Sparrowbeth was the ship that made the most sense by the end of the second movie :sailboat:

Who else remembers this underrated horror movie from 2001? The Hole --

Basic plot: 2 friends skip a class trip to hook up with 2 guys, they hide in the premises of the high school inside a hole that a friend of Thora Birch's character found for them and from then on, things get crazy / claustrophobic / gory / tense as hell. They all play the blame game and it's a question of what really happened & how it happened.

The quote on the DVD is interesting, using Kiera's sex appeal to promote it :smirk:

The acting from all four is actually really good. Laurence Fox and Desmond Harrington did a great job of playing the arrogant males who end up in a fight for survival, Thora plays someone with many secrets and Kiera's character gets severely ill down there.

Would recommend!

I don't care what anyone says: this scene was the most beautiful scene in Love Actually and her scenes with Andrew Lincoln were really well done. That quiet realization and acceptance of his love, knowing it's not going to go further; I don't think it was tasteless at all, it was heart-warming and heart-wrenching.

Keira was SO into these DMC scenes with Johnny. The chemistry was insane. :thud: (Not surprising, given that I remember her gloating over getting to kiss him after having the biggest longtime crush on him)

I love Keira.

Who can blame her. She definitely had Chen with him and was lucky to do those scenes.

I don’t think I ever saw Hole but looks good. I’ll have to look for it.

Welcome to the thread bb! :back_hug:

The Hole is brilliant. A really chiller of a movie. Her friend in it is Thora Birch who was the young girl in HOCUS POCUS... This is one of those movies where there are twists and turns. Keira's role changes drastically in it as well as Thora's. Definitely would recommend

Yeah I was addicted to the Keira/Johnny heat in Dead Man's Chest. That's still her best performance of the trilogy.

I switched from Willabeth to Sparrabeth at that point - I had already loved the idea of Jack/Elizabeth in the campfire scene of Curse of the Black Pearl so when they actually became canon in the sequel, I was blown away :thud:

Thanks :back_hug:

Hopefully I can find the movie somewhere. I like Birch as well. And I’m all about horror movies so looking forward to watching this.

Me too! Yes! Same! :thud:

I honestly thought Birch was Oscar-worthy in the movie. It's one of those British horrors that flew under the radar; it has the underground feel of THE DESCENT.

Keira has gorgeous long blonde hair in it but be warned, her character is bullimic and there's a lot of psychological stress involved among the 4 main characters

Thanks for the warning.

I’m Hoping to watch this weekend :yay:

I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts if/when you do! :fist_bump:

The film felt so realistic to me. A rare horror that you feel could actually happen because the danger is more internal than external.

Enigma 04-29-2023 07:42 PM

I watched tonight :)

Keira was beautiful of course. She always lights up the screen.

Thora was fantastic! Fabulous performance. Its unfortunate performances in horror movies typically get overlooked when it comes to awards.

I agree about this feeling realistic. I felt on edge throughout the movie and was engaged from start to finish. The psychology of people always fascinates me.

So true, plus her acting in the bulimia scenes was so strong; the death scene oh gosh

I've always hated the snobbery of the Awards shows when it comes to horror. Japan have done some incredible psychological horrors and it's criminal that they get overlooked. :irked:

Thora nailed the dark twist in her character  I was actually quite sad that it turned out she had been making up stories about being an innocent victim in the whole thing.

Thora's personality twist was frightening! Her manipulation of the police officer at the end was truly shocking.

:high_five:

Absolutely. Wish she had more screen time. She’s definitely an actress who I will watch in anything.

Me too! It’s criminal I tell you.

I loved the twist. Well done but as you said sad.

She played that so well!
