Quotes;
Dr. Alan Grant: It looks like we're out of a job.
Dr. Ian Malcolm: Don't you mean extinct?

John Hammond: All major theme parks have had delays. When they opened Disneyland in 1956, nothing worked!
Dr. Ian Malcolm: But, John. If the Pirates of the Caribbean breaks down, the pirates don't eat the tourists.

[about the velociraptors]
Dr. Alan Grant: What's their growth rate?
Muldoon: They're lethal at eight months, and I do mean lethal. I've hunted most things that can hunt you, but the way these things move...
Dr. Alan Grant: Fast for a biped?
Muldoon: Cheetah speed. Fifty, sixty miles an hour if they ever got out into the open, and they're astonishing jumpers...
John Hammond: Yes, yes, yes. That's why we're taking extraordinary precautions.
[to Ellie]
John Hammond: The viewing area is over there, and...
Dr. Alan Grant: Do they show intelligence?
Muldoon: They show extraordinary intelligence, even problem-solving. Especially the big one. We bred eight originally, but when she came in she took over the pride and killed all but two of the others. That one... when she looks at you, you can tell she's working things out.

Dr. Ian Malcolm: Anybody hear that? It's an... It's an impact tremor, that's what it is... I'm fairly alarmed here.

[while being chased by the T-Rex]
Dr. Ian Malcolm: Must go faster.

[being chased by the T-Rex]
Dr. Ian Malcolm: You think they'll have that on the tour?

Dr. Ian Malcolm: There. Look at this. See? See? I'm right again. Nobody could've predicted that Dr. Grant would suddenly, suddenly jump out of a moving vehicle.
Dr. Ellie Sattler: Alan? Alan!
[Jumps out of the vehicle]
Dr. Ian Malcolm: There's, another example. See, here I'm now sitting by myself, uh, er, talking to myself. That's, that's chaos.

Dr. Alan Grant: [seeing the Brachiosaur for the first time] Uh... it's... it's a dinosaur

John Hammond, who has lost control of his InGen company, sees a chance to redeem himself for his past mistakes and sends an expedition led by Ian Malcolm to reach the island before the mercenary team gets there. The two groups confront each other in the face of extreme danger and must team up for their own survival in a race against time.

Quotes;

Dr. Ian Malcolm: Oh, yeah. Oooh, ahhh, that's how it always starts. Then later there's running and screaming.

[after re-capturing the baby T-Rex in San Diego]
Sarah Harding: How do we find the adult?
Dr. Ian Malcolm: Just follow the screams.

Sarah Harding: I love you. I just don't... need you right now.
Dr. Ian Malcolm: I'll tell you what you NEED, a good anti-psychotic!
Sarah Harding: I'll be back in five or six days.
Dr. Ian Malcolm: No, you'll be back in five or six PIECES!

John Hammond: Don't worry, I'm not making the same mistakes again.
Dr. Ian Malcolm: No, you're making all new ones.

John Hammond: It is absolutely imperative that we work with the Costa Rican Department of Biological Preserves to establish a set of rules for the preservation and isolation of that island. These creatures require our absence to survive, not our help. And if we could only step aside and trust in nature, life will find a way.

Plot;
Eight years after the InGen incident, Dr. Alan Grant is happy with his life far from any dinosaurs other than fossilized. Unfortunately, he is extremely short in research money, and therefore accepts the offer of wealthy businessman Paul Kirby: A low flight over isolated Isla Sorna, where InGen's second research site was located, and Dr. Grant can fund his future research for a long time. What Dr. Grant didn't know is that Kirby just needs a dinosaur expert to help him and his wife find their 14-year-old son Eric, who crashed on the island while paragliding. What he did suspect, but never wanted to witness, is that the Velociraptors have evolved into a communicating species (and seemingly all along had the capability to do so), now being smarter than primates.

Quotes;

Reporter: Are you saying you wouldn't want to get on Isla Sorna and study them if you had the chance?
Dr. Grant: No force on earth or heaven could get me on that island.

Amanda: This is how you make dinosaurs?
Dr. Grant: No, this is how you play God.

Erik: I read both of your books. I liked the first one more. Before you were on the island. You liked dinosaurs back then.
Dr. Grant: Back then they hadn't tried to eat me yet.

[a loud roar rocks the jungle]
Paul Kirby: What was that?
Billy Brennan: That's a Tyrannosaurus.
Dr. Grant: I don't think so. It sounds bigger.

[the team come across a rotting carcass]
Dr. Grant: It's OK. It's dead.
[a T-Rex raises its head out of the carcass]
Dr. Grant: Nobody move a muscle.
[the T-Rex roars and the team run off]
Dr. Grant: ****!

Paul: What are you doing? Those things are after us because of those!
Dr. Grant: Those things know we have the eggs. If I drop them in the river, they'll still be after us.
Paul: What if they catch us with them?
Dr. Grant: What if they catch us without them?

Wow, AMAZING OP.
And this movie is one of my all time faves, no question.
Thanks for this! ♥

Thanks  It took me a little while, I love this movie too. Rewatched it on the weekend  I love me some raptors.

jackiehydelover 12-07-2008 09:26 PM

I can't believe that we didn't have a thread for this... :look:

Great OP Court!

ride the lightning 12-07-2008 11:22 PM

I know  It was one of the biggest movies ever.

allybubba 12-08-2008 02:38 AM

I know, I looked at it and was like 'What? #1?' LOL.
Ahhhhhhh.. the raptors.
Classic suspense in that kitchen, and the sound they make? :sigh:

But I shall always love my T-Rex. :in_love:
That roar at the end?
Etched into my memory foreverrrrrr, haha.

ride the lightning 12-08-2008 03:24 AM

Oh my heart was beating out of my chest when I saw the raptor scene for the first time  I love them, they make the best noises. Have you seen #3? It's not as good but I love the raptors in that movie.

T-Rex's roar at the end

theheartstripe 12-08-2008 05:52 PM

I love this...it's kind of appropriate timing too considering that Jurassic Park IV was officially announced as a dead project this morning...we've got all the Jurassic Park that we're going to get....time to celebrate the trilogy...

jackiehydelover 12-08-2008 08:36 PM

So Court, did you just watch the movie again recently or something? I saw your avatar when you posted on the T7S board yesterday

I love the raptors! They are my all time favorite dinosaur

ride the lightning 12-08-2008 08:51 PM

Yeah I watched it recently  But I love dinosaurs. I used to want to be a palaentologist

Which one is everyones favourite?

I actually enjoyed them all :look:

allybubba 12-08-2008 09:11 PM

So there's no #4?
Shame.

I gotta say the 1st is my fav.
2nd was ok.
3rd was good, but the Spino killing the T Rex after that bite (which did nothing, but should have snapped it's neck immediately) pissed me off.

T Rex > Spino.

~♥~My Lonely Angel~♥~ 12-08-2008 10:09 PM

Aw. I was hoping that the 4th would happen. But I can see why it's dead. They're probably having issues coming up with a good storyline.

I love all of these movies dearly. The first is definitely my favorite. I also really like the 2nd one. The third one is fine, but not my favorite. There's some faults in the storyline that don't match with the 2nd's.

allybubba 12-08-2008 10:40 PM

Yea, and to be honest, I was kind of mad that Alan and Ellie weren't together.
They even made it look like it, too. :pout:
Stupid. :P

ride the lightning 12-08-2008 11:31 PM

I know Alan/Ellie FTW!

I like Spino better then T-Rex ... he's a crazy mother******.

:lmao:

But I prefer Raptors overall, in real life Spino easily kicks T-Rex's ass. :P

jackiehydelover 12-09-2008 05:15 PM

My favorite will always be the first one.

I really like the second one though and the third was just okay to me. I didn't like that Alan and Ellie weren't together anymore. That just didn't seem right to me
