I only saw the original one... while camping in my backyard as a kid... maybe not the best time to watch a scary movie.

Yeah. I don't remember seeing many horror flicks as a young child. ''Cujo'' might have been & ''Killer Clowns From Outer Space Another'', but after I became a teen, I saw more of them such as ''The Shining'', ''Misery'', plenty of adapted films of Stephen King books.

The first film still sticks in my head as one of the scariest and underrated horrors of all time.

So many scenes are horrific - when he kills her best friend, when Virginia Madsen's character wakes up in the bathroom of the woman whose baby goes missing and she's framed for butchering the woman's dog... You feel awful for her the entire film, especially because her husband is a cheating coward.

I'm re-watching THE RING with Naomi Watts for the millionth time

My favorite horror movie ever, but some things always bugged me:

Rachel arrogantly insisting that her son's teacher should call her by her first name and then basically tries to dismiss all of the teacher's attempts to warn her about the psychological damage of Aiden

Why Aiden spends most of the movie talking about Samara in a way which implies she was a sweet and innocent victim, only to have a complete change in attitude at the convenient time that his father is about to get killed

Where was Becca when Katie shouted upstairs to her?

(The third point is the least annoying, because it adds to the mystery and scares factor)

Interesting. I don't know if I have a favourite Horror film. I do have favourites of them, such as "House of 9", "The Shining", & "The "Poltergeist". Gwen, did you get to watch "The Prodigy" yet?

Not yet, sadly. I'll check Netflix for it

I did watch I Still Know What You Did Last Summer and Thirteen Ghosts recently Last time I had seen them was, well, years ago.

Thirteen Ghosts really isn't very good (the acting is poor) and it's basically a copy of Ghost Ship & House on Haunted Hill but wow there's a vicious death scene which gives it at least 1 extra star for being such a shock/gore moment

OK. I don't think that I've seen ''Thirteen Ghosts'', though I do think I have ''I Still Know What You Did Last Summer'' on DVD. ''Ghost Ship'' I've yet to watch.

It's brilliant in my opinion and it was one of the first DVDs I ever bought

Gabriel Byrne is really good in it, and the core group who he leads out on the adventure have great chemistry with each other

I watched JU-ON: WHITE GHOST the day after Christmas

Scary as hell but it's Christmas based! (Kinda like Gremlins. But much scarier.)

I love that movie

I always hated that they killed off the blonde guy who had feelings for Julianna Marguilie's character. I wanted them to escape together

But then again, even she didn't get a happy ending (remember that twist?)

Re-watched The Ring [2002] for the millionth time:

Naomi Watts' character is SO transparent in her ignorance towards her family that it pretty much sums up why Rachel is so blindly sympathetic towards Samara just because of a mere INKLING that Brian Cox's character MIGHT have abused her (when in fact, he didn't and Samara WAS evil all along)

Honestly, Rachel frustrates me. We keep hearing from her sister how Katie, the first person in the movie to die, ADORED Rachel as an aunt and was really close to her and yet Rachel doesn't even seem remotely upset or distressed in the build-up to her funeral.

Rachel's mind: "Work, work, I'm better than my boss, work, work, oh yeah I have a son... Work, wait Katie's funeral, okay teens gossiping about a tape WTF?, work, tape..."

- It takes her so damn long to even seem like a relatable human being in this movie that Noah pays the price for it with his life.

So... Yeah, there's a whole essay you could write on the flaws of Rachel in this movie.
