Is there anyone who feels sympathy for Kathryn at the end?
 I know the movie's intention was to convince us that she deserved everything she got, but I can't help but feel that Sebastian was wrongly removed from blame for actions that they did together. That book of Kathryn's was basically a summation of everything she did with him, not on her own. __________________

I can no longer watch this movie without cringing and being irritated by Sebastian.
 He's unbearable in the last act. He blames everything on Kathryn. Let's remember that HE'S the one who suggested seducing Annette. Nobody else. Also, it's so awkward how he suddenly loses interest in Kathryn. Comes out of nowhere. DANGEROUS LIAISONS did it much better. It didn't have his character shift all the blame onto her. It didn't try to have anyone "win" in the end. It nailed the tragedy, whereas Cruel Intentions allows Annette to succeed over Kathryn. Utter nonsense. __________________

I still wish Sebastian didn't die and agree he wasn't completely innocent, but at least he changed and underneath it all didn't like Kathryn's manipulation and how she always got off on hurting people. I mean, she ended the film with her life and Sebastian didn't so he got the worst karma for it.

Perhaps, but I think the whole thing of him writing an entire journal essay where he exposes her and her twisted games is extremely hypocritical of him.
Plus, Annette riding off in his car is such sappy writing. But I know of course that it intentionally shifted away from the tragedy of the original. __________________
