This movie is by far on of my favorite movies. I recently read the top 25 best teen movies & of course this was number 1. I really love this movie cause it deals with being a teenager to the core (considering I'm a teenager) But the ending is always the best with the Dear Mr. Vernon.

I loved the letter, it was just so raw and emotional, very relatable.

It's so sad and discouraging that movies like this can't be made today. John Hughes was a genius when it came to this Brat Pack genre, but the 90's produced quite a few decent offerings in the same vein; now everything is so lacking.

I was feeling nostalgic for these earnest teenagers (and the actors who portrayed them) who were all a little bit of everything (like the letter mentioned). For that and many other reasons, this movie will keep getting better and better as the years pass.

ITA! The Breakfast Club is timeless. Teen movies are just not like used to be... None of the new films really come close.

I heard they made a documentary about John Hughes when he passed away. Haven't seen it yet though. I hope it does him justice. Like you said, he was a genius.

They're not even a whisper of how they used to be.

I know there's a documentary called "Don't You Forget About Me" but it was made before he passed away. My DVR is set to record it this week and I can't wait to see it. I hope it's good!

Also, Claire/Bender are the best teenager movie couple ever! And we only got to see them interact during a day. I love them so much.

TBC is the perfect example of how a high school movie should be: characters teens can relate to, bad boy/good girl pairing, awesome quotes.

Completely agree! It's probably one of the best teen comedy/drama ever. It shows that no matter what your status is in high school, we all have our problems and really no one is better than the other.
