I watched The Notebook for the first time last week (I know :P )

but the scene that made me most emotional wasn’t the final scene but when Allie briefly remembers and they’re dancing but then she forgets again and has a breakdown

Yes that was a deep and powerfully acted scene

That and The Fault in our Stars really nail the fundamental aspect of grief in a relationship where one or both people are terminally ill.

this is honestly one of my favorite romantic movie scenes in addition to being one of the movie scenes that makes me the most emotional

^ Oh that scene where Forrest discovers he's a father is so well done and so well acted by Tom. All he wants to know is if his son is 'normal'.

Scarface - the scene where Tony goes home. He's embraced by his sister Gina but their Mother immediately questions his motives. It's that pivotal scene of the movie that sums up all the themes that lead to the tragedy ~

1. Their mother knows how far Tony is willing to go to get what he wants.

2. Gina has this devout faith in Tony being the heroic big brother who can always provide for her.

3. Tony believes he knows what is best for Gina.

4. Their mother tells Tony to leave because she doesn't want Gina going down the same path as Tony.

5. Tony gives Gina money (unwittingly giving her the freedom to go out partying).

6. The scene ends with Tony warning his best friend Manny to never try to hook up with Gina (the ultimate Shakespearean foreshadowing of a romance ending in death).

Tony fatally shooting his best friend Manny whilst high on cocaine out of some extreme measure to protect his sister then discovering they got married and immediately looking vulnerable/lost/devastated

as I stated a couple of posts above, Scarface is full of well-acted Shakespearean tragedy moments and this is yet another. Tony makes a rash decision based on some drug-induced attempt to protect his sister from a womanizer.

Adding to the tragedy is that I'm not sure he even realized it was Manny at first. He just shot the first person who opened the door and appeared to have had sex with Gina.

^ I think The Parent Trap was the first kids' movie I ever saw where I felt the acting was emotionally convincing.

I remember being an emotional wreck in the following 2 scenes between Elizabeth and Nick:

1) "It's the wine we drank at our wedding"
2) "I already lost you once, Lizzy. I'm not gonna do that again, no matter how brave you try to be."

True love conquering all.

Caesar's death in WAR FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES is an obvious choice here, but I also always get emotional when Will (James Franco) hears him speak for the first time in RISE of the Planet of the Apes only to hear him saying he's not coming back with him -

This is why I'm not fully on board with the sequel. I hated the destruction of the family dynamic from the first movie.

just finished watching My Dog Skip for the first time

sad ending

I just felt really bad for the dog though after he got hit by his owner and then hit again later that day by an older man with a shovel nearly killing him

I can't watch this scene much Just the fact that poor Harry is so confused and being rejected by his human friends.
