Happy to share it!

I don't think I realized how much I love them as a couple until recently. I've watched the movie countless times over the years and my main draw towards it was based on how funny the cast are (especially Cameron and Michael) but I've really come to adore Kat and Patrick together.

You don't even realize at first how much you're watching them mature on screen, from the start to the end of the movie. They're in very different emotional places by the end. It's a really great shift in characterization and the genius thing is that they don't have to change as people, they simply tone down their eccentricities and learn to understand each other.

I agree, I loved to re-watch this a lot when I was younger, had the VHS too and I agree, the Cameron/Michael camaraderie was a draw, plus relating to having older siblings who obviously would have more privileges because they were older!

I just wanted to log in to say that I love the title of this thread.

A hummingbird (yep, and actual ruby-throated hummingbird!) is building a nest outside my window, building a nest, so it's hard for me to concentrate on a romantic film is negotiating against an actual romance outside my window, but...

... I do love this movie and wish more people knew about it....

(As in, spread the word, meat-people -- make sure that new generations of girls (especially, although boys may condescend to watch if you tell them that it's based on a play by "Shakespeare" -- in quotes to define a... certain vocal quality that is useful to convey the writer's importance...).

And to say that that pretty little hummingbird is kinda loud...

There was also a TV series created from this I think too. I never watched it, but it had at least one season. Did anyone every see it?

I have hummingbird feeders outside my window!

I love every single dynamic in the movie, but especially the Cameron/Michael one, because it reminded me of Joey and Chandler in FRIENDS - the awkward one with the loved-up one

Kat and Patrick are a pairing I have come to love more as time has passed.

I do remember the TV series and what I saw was pretty good. It starred Ethan Peck (Gregory's grandson I think) as Patrick.

I didn't get to see the TV series (it seemed to fly under the radar) but I heard about it

I'm content with just the movie Lots of characterization and humor was involved to make it great entertainment. I was impressed with the performances because you don't usually expect much from a young cast.
