The 10 Most Toned

Today's stars need more than curves to survive these days. They need muscle. Here are the 10 most emulated bodies of influence. [Original article] by Michael Moses.

Jennifer Garner Age: 32

She makes it look easy, but Garner labors to play sexy spy girl Sydney Bristow. According to her personal trainer Valerie Waters, the "Alias" star is up and running -- literally -- at 4 a.m. almost every day. After sprinting, she does a circuit weight training or yoga, concentrating on what Waters describes as "core conditioning to keep that lean, athletic look." For sustenance, she fuels up on a practical diet of three meals and two snacks per day. "Jennifer trains extremely hard but isn't obsessive," says Waters. "She works out five to six days a week for an hour at a time. You can see the results for yourself."

Garner's porn faux-pas

World Entertainment News Network
Posted November 16 2004

Actress Jennifer Garner had to change the name of her new production company Vandalia Films, after discovering it shared its name with a hardcore porn manufacturer.

The Daredevil actress chose the moniker because it was the original name of her home state West Virginia - and even had all her stationary made up before checking.

She says, "It was a disaster. Their stuff is disgusting. I can't believe it wasn't checked out in advance.

"That name is on my credit cards. It's on my business cards. It's on my assistant's business cards.

"I'm embarrassed."

Aww, poor Jen!

Thanks for info about Alias' schedule. I was hoping for before or after Lost as well. I think that would be their best timeslot as of now.

Thanks for the workout bit, Abby (and thanks for reposting here, Ellie, lol). Even though it was the same as Valerie and/or Jen has said before, I always love reading tidbits about her training. And I love it when she's on those lists. Which of course she always should be.

You guys didn't know about the Vandalia Films fiasco? It's funny, but also, poor Jen. Aww.

google_fish 11-17-2004 11:37 AM

What was up with that article, that's totally old news and so are the quotes they used from Jen. Weird.

Of course there's a bunch of new articles about the schedule change, I liked this from Stephen McPherson:

"I'm really pleased to have the assets we now have and offer Jennifer Garner a compatible lead-in when on Sunday she just didn't have that."

Yup, because it's alllll about Jen ;)

abby-anne 11-17-2004 01:09 PM

Oh yeah. I forgot the whole workout thing.

Eli - No, I didn't know about the Vandalia Films fiasco. So it is old? I just saw it at j-g.net.

You subscribe with Google news right? :look:

Aww, I like that quote as well. Of course it's all about Jen. ;) I think they pretty much love her at ABC. When they had no good shows, she and Alias seemed to pretty much hold it together for them, heh. This season ABC has gotten some good shows, so they don't need Alias in the same way. And then it's nice to see they still bother enough with the show to try to find the best spot for it. So I think Lost as a lead-in will be good. Probably a lot of the same people watching JJ's Lost and JJ's Alias.

With the new slot, though, are they up against any big shots? I heard someone mention The West Wing. Which is huge. Although, I think it may have lost some quality and by then maybe viewers as well...

In any event, yay for Jan 5th premiere. Oh God, January is gonna be such a Jen month I'm not sure how I'm gonna survive.

Yeah, old, Abby. Very old. Yeah, I have Google news alert. Very convenient. Meg does too. Which is why we always have the same news to share with y'all. But the Vandalia thing is so old it's from way before I started subscribing to the news alert. I have no idea why they suddenly brought it up now like it's news. Talk about slacky journalism work. Tsk.

google_fish 11-17-2004 10:49 PM

I don't get Google news alerts, I have the page bookmarked, so just check it whenever I'm bored. Same thing really.

As for Alias, it'll be up against The West Wing...which I've heard is taking a few week hiatus in January/Feb...though I'm not sure if that's still on and the American Idol results show.

I think that given ABC has three to 20 shows, two of which are top 10, there won't be as much pressure for Alias to rate it's socks of this season as there would've been if Lost and DH weren't so succesful. I think it just needs to hold it's own, doesn't need to have everyone in the States watching. Though that would be nice ;)

49 sleeps.

Ellie 11-18-2004 09:48 AM

Hopefully it does well in the new timeslot, but I guess there less pressure on the show since Lost and DH are rating really well. I'm just a bit worried about the show this season after the last. But I hope it holds its own and does good!

Eliii 11-18-2004 11:06 AM

Oh, I thought you did. But yeah, checking the page yourself gives the same results. Hee.

Aw, like we say to kids. :giggle:

Yeah, for the first time for as long the show has been on, everything doesn't depend on their ratings alone. Less pressure. I also don't think TWW gives the same competition now as it did a few years back. So if Alias can manage to blow us all away in the first few episodes, they might manage to keep their audience this season as well.

I know what you mean with season 3 and worrying, Ellie. I think everyone does. Hope they manage to prove a lot of people wrong, and raise themselves from the slump they were in last season.

I hope they do. HOpefully they go back to their roots this season. I mean, S1 was kick ass, it always left you hanging. Last season, that didn't really happen for me. But hopefully they'll do great, I have faith!

google_fish 11-22-2004 03:20 AM

I hope this is the right place to bring this up...but the Alias Season 4 promo?! Holy freakin' crap!!!!

Jen looks amazing. Season 4 looks amazing. Can't. Wait.

-Katie- 11-22-2004 04:49 AM

Hopefully someone will have the promo available for download. I really want to see it.

It's up at Alias-Media, seriously 45 minutes after it aired, it was available. I love this fandom.

Ellie 11-22-2004 06:20 AM

The promo!! OMG! How good is that!

I love the first bit! I'm a...gonna kick your ass!

I remember at the Oscars. j-g.net had Jen's interview with Joan Rivers up minutes after it aired on TV. So brilliant. Hee.

SQUEE!!!

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OH MY GOD!

Dude, Sydney is gonna look SO hot in season 4. Lots of BlondeSyd. Blonde really works for JG. Very hot. Dude, she looks goooood! And she's kicking and being SpySyd again. I love it when she does those kicks with the leg high in the air and slams it down on the one she's kicking. Michael looked sinfully hot as well. Better than ever. Whee!

My bloodpressure. I'm so excited I can barely breathe. Sure, yes, spysister thing can be lame, but right now I don't give a ****. Nadia is very petite next to Syd, heh. And whee with the Syd/Vaughn stuff. Dude, the sex stuff looks very hot (professional or not, must have been uncomfortable to shoot, but the result looks good so far). Too short and dark cuts, though. ;) But the little we saw of them together, seemed good. No lack of chemistry.

I need to watch it again. And again. And again. Squee!
