I guess we're never gonna find out what happens with David and Walter from Prometheus and Covenant?

Never saw Alien: Convent, just the trailers, and by god they were awful.

It wasn't bad. It was better than Prometheus.

In Covenant's opening title sequence, Ridley Scott actually used the original opening title sequence theme music that Jerry Goldsmith had composed for the first Alien, but that Scott never used, opting instead for that more ominous, mysterious theme.

The only good Alien film was Alien Resurrection, largely because of Wynona Ryder and Ron Perlman.

So do I. I immediately recognized the music when I went to see Covenant because Jerry Goldsmith's original title sequence theme was on the Alien soundtrack, but not in the actual movie. I heard it on the Alien DVD special features.

I'm agreeing with you.

Prometheus wasn't even really an Alien movie. It was basically a ripoff of HP Lovecraft's At The Mountains of Madness set in the Alien universe. It actually forced Guillermo del Toro to cancel his own planned adaptation of At The Mountains of Madness.

Yeah, I know you like Resurrection, but that one left me cold. Joss Whedon wrote it and it seemed like... I don't know, like Alien meets the Poseidon Adventure or something.

Well, I'm not sure why I liked Covenant, but I guess it was because it was closest to the original mythology that there was some familiarity for me.

Well, let's just say it got the spirit of the mythology right. I saw elements of Alien and Aliens in Covenant. I loved the battle between Walter and David.

But there were some parts that I felt were beneath Ridley Scott, like that stupid slasher film-style shower death scene.

I think Fassbender did a film called The Shight Between Oceans.
