Didn't Avi work over at Sony as well? I think he was the one who wanted Venom in SM3 and still has an obsession with Venom.

Venom, another of Todd McFarlane's dumb inventions. Not one of my favorite comic book creators. But I'll still see the Venom movie, because it's Tom Hardy and he's a genius.

Just rewatched the awful Spawn movie this evening. Todd McFarlane seems to have had full creative control over that and boy did it turn out crap. I guess I was right to avoid the Spawn comics in the shop back in the '90s. Image Comics, who needs it?

No, Avi worked with Sony on the Spider-Man movies. But he was still head of Marvel Entertainment. Oh, and Marvel Studios was originally called Marvel Films and changed to Marvel Studios in 1997.

Yeah, Spawn was overrated, like most of Image Comics. Things started out well, but over time it got boring because those guys really didn't create much of a mythology and weren't doing anything that interesting. It was kind of like the Grunge movement of comic books.

I liked Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and Soundgarden in the beginning, but I got tired of it really quickly. I missed bands like Van Halen, Def Leppard, and Motley Crue, and Grunge is the reason why bands today all sound like Nickelback.

Thanks, LightYears. So I guess there's not gonna be any X-Universe/MCU integration until well into the 2020's.

Correct. Don't expect the X-Men in the MCU until after 2020. Possibly in 2021 at the earliest.

I think even that's optimistic. Movies take a while to prepare.

I think they'll keep the current characters in the Deadpool/X-Force universe. I fully expect the main series (X-Men) to be rebooted.

Thanks for the info and assessment, LightYears. You're one of the smarter ones around, so I trust your judgement on this.

What? How could they do that? Why just the X-Men and not everyone else? It would be nice to have a totally unified movie universe. And isn't Deadpool in the X-Men universe? He was at the Xavier mansion.
