X-men Cartoons & Comics thread: This is where it all began!

Decided to combine this thread for the comic and cartoons for those that do like the comics/cartoons and wish to discuss it!

Used to watch cartoons as a kid :sigh: Good times :D

The cartoon had the best theme song. I still sing to it!

I loved the Cartoon Theme song.

I had the whole thing memorised to where they all run into each other. X-men evolution was pretty cool too, it was more hip, I mean the teens acted more like teens.

I remember watching the cartoon every Saturday! :sigh: *memories*

I really enjoyed the 90's cartoon - for me, those are the definitive versions of the characters.

X-Men: Evolution was pretty good too, though I've only really seen the first season.

I have an extensive collection of the comics as well, mostly from the 80's and 90's.

Thanks for this thread, Theresa! :flowers:

I watched the cartoons too when I was a kid. I'm not really a comics girl. I thought that was a boyish thing to do. In the cartoons, I already like Rogue. :)

Do they have the cartoon eps up on Youtube?

Sweet Embrace 08-02-2014 03:42 AM

Comics is DEF not a boyish thing to do! I still read the comics

Some of the episodes are on youtube and they do have crossovers too!

I know but I was a kid back then, I like girly stuff and associate comics with boys.

I wish they did their costume (in the films) the same as the one in the cartoons.

Oh my gosh. Saw this on Tumblr and just about died.

I watched X-Men Evolution when it was on but didn't get to see the last season and it was so long ago that I don't remember :goof: will need to do a re-watch, saw pieces of the original cartoon. Will have to watch that, properly on Netflix and can properly convince BF to watch it with me :rotfl:

Never read any of the comics though :goof:

I think I also liked Shadowcat & Nightcrawler in the cartoons and only because they had a similar mutant power. :)

Sweet Embrace 08-03-2014 03:15 AM

Remember in Xmen where Logan comments on the costume "you actually go out in this stuff?" and Cyclops remarks "well, what would you prefer, yellow spandex?" I love that quip, as obviously logan's costume in the cartoon and comics was bright yellow

I liked that they did change it up because to have the original colours might make them look a bit...weird

That gifset!

I laugh at that every single time :rotfl: love that throwback to the original cartoons

My wish is to watch the cartoons again. It has been such a long time and I have forgotten most of it (of course) but I remember watching it with my sisters and cousin and EVERYONE loved Cyclops and Jean. At this same time, we also loved Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. LOL.

True. And the one used in the films was pretty badass.
