She doesn't have to be in the main X-Main franchise, as speculation goes she could be featured in X-Men spinoffs, like Deadpool for instance.

Yeah, but I still think the temptation will be there to have Laura put on the Wolverine or X-23 outfit eventually. That would require recasting.

I'm glad I'm not alone on this.
She was a delight in that movie, and got positive buzz on her performance.
The time span with action franchises is some year gaps in between, so no big deal if they plan to do a movie with her later.

She's 12, and getting close to teenage stage. Won't be that long till she's 17.

I don't think so. If X-23 makes it into the X-Men movies, expect a recasting. Hollywood doesn't like waiting.

There's no reason to recast her. The majority of viewers absolutely loved her and would be delighted to see her do her own solo movie even if she's just 14 in it. I doubt any X23 movie would be made sooner than 2 year from now.
