I don't know if it's hate, or a sense of social dislocation, that immigrants are coming too fast and too many(some illegally), and not assimilating into the culture of the country. That seems to be the feeling of a lot of European countries, like Italy, France, and Germany.

Oh it's hate alright. Right after the Brexit got voted in, people in England started coming up to Poles there and sneering that they'd have to "go home now."

But even that sort of attitude wouldn't have been enough to ensure a Brexit without Putin's help, because a lot of people in Britain, particularly the young, are pro-EU.

Personally I hate the EU. It's a bully club in which Germany and France push around smaller nations. But I consider it a necessary evil. Trying to take it apart can only lead to disaster. You can't put the chicken back in the egg.

The Brexiteers are bloody delusional. They think England can somehow get its empire back if it leaves Europe. Daft. I call them the Leavings.

My co-mod on The Borgias board is from Bulgaria and she doesn't like the EU either.

I guess you can say that the EU's insufferable nature contributed to Brexit as well I guess.

I don't think anyone in England thinks they can get the empire back, but they do seem to think they can be independent from Europe. I don't know, we'll see what happens. I just hope this gets resolved quickly.

Really? They are aware that those territories are lost, right? They can't get those back, and the best they can hope for is to be more like Australia.

Trump is easily the worst President ever. He says he's "a very stable genius." In other words, he's a psychopathic moron. His horrible effect on the world climate may be his most enduring legacy, but he's doing plenty other harm too. For one thing, he's promoting prejudice and hatred. I blame the Pittsburgh synogogue shooting on the climate of hatred Trump's created. Look at the way he called the Charlottesville white supremacust marchers "vey fine people." If that's not encouragement, I don't know what is. And his cowardly Syria troop pulllout is going to allow Turkey to commit genocide on America's Kurdish allies in northern Syria. And who can forget TreasonSummit at Helsinki with Putin? Like Hillary said, he's Putin's puppet.

How do you feel about that wall he is putting up? Or is failing to put up?

It's another of his bizarre quixotic schemes. Most of the time people complain that politicians don't keep their election promises. The problem with Trump is that he tries to keep every last horrible promise. He was even going to try to go after Hillary for her so-called crimes, just like he threatened to during the campaign, but luckily his advisors convinced him not to. He's mad as a hatter.
