A superhero TV show from the early 1980s starring William Katt, Robert Culp, and Connie Selleca.
It's about a schoolteacher who receives a superhero suit from alien extraterrestrials that gives him super powers. Here's the opening titles. __________________

That article is a load of bull. It was the first X-Men film that rescued the superhero genre and changed Hollywood, not Raimi's stupid Spider-Man movie. That Spider-Man movie wouldn't have come out if it weren't for X-Men being a success first.

That's very true. X-Men is what convinced Hollywood that comic book movies not based on Batman or Superman could be successful, although many credit the Blade movies with getting Marvel movies on the board, originally.

Yeah, but the Blade movies were more vampire movies than superhero movies.

For a good reason. Blade was a Marvel superhero who didn't look like a superhero. He dressed in black leather and sunglasses, and carried a sword. He didn't wear spandex, a cape, or a mask. That's why Blade was an easier sell to the Hollywood studios in the 1990s. Remember what Sony execs said. "No one gives a damn about any Marvel characters other than Spider-Man." Remember what Disney execs ironically told M. Night Shyamalan when he was making 'Unbreakable.' Tone down the comic book superhero stuff. "It's a niche audience, those people who go to convention."
