No, I didn't hear much about any of that, although I did hear about the High Evolutionary in GOTG 3, which makes sense considering Adam Warlock is in it as well. Warlock and the High Evolutionary have a long history together. He considers Adam his adopted son.

I don't know but Gunn did make Ego the villain for Vol 2 so it's not anything new in GOTG.
