The Hurt Locker won Best Picture at the Oscars and beat out Avatar in 2009, dragonfire. Oh, and Anthony Mackie wasn't the only MCU actor in that movie. Jeremy Renner/Hawkeye was in it too, and earned an Oscar nomination for Best Actor.

It was also directed by Kathryn Bigelow, who became the first female director to win the Oscar for Best Director. I wish she had worked on Wonder Woman or Captain Marvel, because she's not just a female director, she's a kick-ass action movie director. She did Point Break with Keanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze in 1991. That's the movie that The Fast and The Furious ripped off.

I don't like that retcon, dragonfire. Gaia has been Thor's mother all through his mythology, and Odin and Gaia's union was part of what made Thor Earth's protector. So what, Odin did it with the Phoenix? How did that happen? And why does Thor need to be connected to the damn X-Men mythology? Why does everything have to be about them?

Yep, Odin did it with The Phoenix. Maybe, because The X-Men sells the most, so they're using the big guns to help the others.

It also could be because seems the writer for the comic loves using X-Men characters.

Honestly, what they're doing amuses me, because before the deal Marvel kept pushing The Avengers, Inhumane, etc. etc. and now after the deal Marvel keeps pushing X-Men, and pushing X-Men onto other comics as well.

From what I read, it sounds like he did it with the first Phoenix host, or something.

Ok. To be fair though, Marvel is really nothing without The X-Men, and especially them as the main focus.
