They didn't really have a mission in the comics. They were an experiment created by The Celestials. Okay, Sarah. I'll look forward to seeing you back here! I hope you're feeling well! |

Thanks for letting me know. :)

The movie didn't IMPLY the Eternals were aliens, it made it outright clear.
I didn't see it, so I couldn't say conclusively. If that's the case, then the movie was way off. The Eternals was Jack Kirby's way of explaining the origins of superhumans on Earth, taking inspiration from 2001: A Spacy Odyssey, Chariots of the Gods, and classical mythology, among other things.
Of course they were way off. We've discussed this before.
Yes, but not having seen the movie, I couldn't be sure how far off.
Jeez, it's common knowledge that they're aliens in the movie.
Not to me. :P I told you I didn't see the movie, and I'm hesitant to look up any information on movies based on comic books these days. They usually put me in a bad mood and make me wanna smash something. Remember the Snake Eyes movie incident? I think it was a divine act of God that the film flopped.

Neal Adams died? :( He was cool.
Thanks for the info, dragonfire.
It's sad that Neal Adams passed. :( He created iconic drawings of superheroes. |
He was a really dynamic artist, ahead of his time in the field of comic book art. He did the best art in the original X-Men comic (with the original team, before it was semi-cancelled in the early '70s and brought back with a new team in 1975). He also drew some of the few Batman comics I like. He was a legend in the field.
That he was. :( I feel like we're losing our childhood. Everything that was great about comic books is slowly slipping away.
