Well, that mostly had to do with Fox having the rights to X-Men(along with Fantastic Four) while Sony had Spider-Man, Universal had Hulk, and other studios had everything else. You have to remember, dragonfire, Marvel didn't have a working relationship with a studio like DC Comics had with Warner Bros. In the 1980s it was The Cannon Group who bought the rights to Marvel's titles, but after they went bankrupt in 1989 Marvel's titles were up for grabs. Marvel also went bankrupt in the 1990s and they just tossed all of their sticks to the wind. This is why I wish Fox had just bought out Marvel's titles outright in the 90s so this situation would never have happened. Marvel Studios really couldn't do anything until they got the rights to X-Men back from Fox. It had nothing to do with sacrificing the X-Men to prop up The Avengers. Sony still has the rights to Spider-Man and who knows how long that situation will last? If Marvel had done what DC had done back in the 1970s with WB, things would've been different. Well, I will agree that the MCU has greatly misrepresented and misinterpreted the Avengers. Basically, Feige ed up. Remember, Marvel made the comics all about the Avengers this century. While applying punitive rules to the X-Men like "No more new X-Men characters to be created".

You're welcome, dragonfire.

I honestly wish this could've been done another way so that Marvel could get the rights to X-Men and FF back without Disney buying all of 20th Century Fox's titles. __________________

Thanks for that, dragonfire.
Is everyone at Marvel going through some kind of midlife crisis? __________________
