Gambit Unappreciation thread #2

Our board's very first anti thread! :D This is the place to bash the wanker with the cards, the guy who's most definitely not worthy of Rogue. As if the character in the comics isn't annoying enough, we've had one dreadful performance by Taylor Kitsch and we're likely to have another by Channing Tatum.

Take that you third-rate pickpocket! :kicks Gambit in the balls:

Added later:

Gambit is a slimy wanker who was involved in Mister Sinister's massacre of the mutant Morlocks and wormed his way into Rogue's affections, only to let her down. He's annoying, he's smug, he's creepy. He thinks he's God's gift to women. He's probably left a long list of Me-Too cases behind him.

It had Freedom Force (previously the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants) defeating the combined Avengers teams and taking them to Project Pegasus, where the government's representatives (Gyrich et al) accuse the Avengers of crimes and they're imprisoned. Spider Woman (Carpenter) helps spring them. The sequel, the West Coast Avengers annual, was crap, though. It turned out Quicksilver had set up the Avengers. The East Coast annual was pencilled by Steve Ditko, doing a much better joh than he did back in the '60s.

OMG, Spider-Woman II was in that annual? I remember she joined the West Coast Avengers for a time. Damn, I can't believe I missed out on that annual. I was so good about reading all of those back then.

She was working with Freedom Force at the time.

PhoenixRising 11-17-2018 03:28 PM

Yeah, I remember now. I did see Julia Carpenter on the Freedom Force covers.

Freedom Force didn't have its own comic.
