A statement in favour of a "rival" ship is not a statement against the main ship being discussed. We don't do that shipper war bull here. I remember when the first movie came out in 2000 people were very pissed that Wolverine's relationship he had with Rogue wasn't with Jubliee and that she wasn't in the film.

Well, Jubilee was a fairly new character who had just been created in the late 80s-early 90s.

Jubilee was too young to be in a relationship with Wolverine.

Yeah, but I think a lot about the 2000 movie was influenced by what was going on in the comics and cartoons in the 1990s, and Jubliee was a fairly new character by then.

In the comics, Wolverine has a long established habit of playing an older brother role to young females, totally non-sexually. That's how I took Wolverine/Rogue in X1 when I saw it back in 2000.

I haven't seen the latest movies but I don't remember seeing anything romantic between these two in early ones. Just protective older brother sort of thing
